Players hoping to earn some extra cash in-game can easily do so by watching select streamers on Twitch play GTA 5. The game currently works with Twitch and all players have to do is tune in for a few hours to get everything. Watching for one hour will reward players with $200,000 in GTA$, two hours will add an additional $300,000 and three hours will unlock the Street Samurai Livery. The campaign started on February 26th and will run until March 4th at 2:59 AM PT. However, there is a small catch: players must follow participating Japanese streamers to earn GTA Online money.

Players can easily access participating streams by logging into their Twitch account and going to the Drops and Rewards page. From there, scroll down or search Grand Theft Auto V. The listing should display “Japan Community Series” and list the rewards mentioned above. Twitch will display a number of participating channels and a “more” link that will launch a search for all channels in Japanese that are playing GTA 5.

Players will also need to link their Twitch and Rockstar Games accounts if they haven't already, which can be done on the same page. Players have 14 days to link their accounts after receiving drops. Once Twitch drops are earned, players will need to go to the Drop Inventory page and select “Claim Now” to send the reward to their account. However, players should also note that it can take up to three days for earned drops to appear in-game.

Due to the time difference between the US and Japan, players may not initially see any streams available to watch. It may be necessary to stream Twitch in the middle of the night in the player's local time zone to get drops. For example, participating streamers Middleeetv and たここちゃん (Takokochan) last broadcast GTA 5 at 1 and 2 a.m. Pacific Time. However, players don't have to watch for three hours straight and can split the streaming into multiple channels if needed.

There are a lot of things you can spend $500,000 on GTA Onlineincluding the fairly recent additions of Mansions to the game. Mansions start at $11,500,000 in game, so that $500,000 won't go very far, but it's a step in the right direction. These mansions also unlock an exclusive mission GTA 5 protagonist Michael, who fans have been hoping to see in the game's online component for years. Those who are still short on funds may want to try the Weekly Earning Bonuses, which cover the same time period as the Twitch campaign. Drift Races offer 3x the usual amount of GTA$, Motorcycle Club Weed Sell missions earn 2x the usual amount, and Exotic Exports can be sold for 4x the usual amount. Additionally, those with Auto Shops can complete any heist contract and receive a one-time bonus of $300,000 GTA.
