When it comes to shonen anime with overpowered main characters, One-Punch Man is the anime that comes to mind first. After all, Saitama is easily recognizable for his ability to one-hit powerful opponents with a deadpan expression on his face. It is one of the best, if not the most important part One-Punch Mansuccess.

Puri Puri prisoner
Although it is true One-Punch Man is also a comedy anime, it's no excuse for Puri Puri Prisoner to exploit men weaker than him. He is a serial abuser, exploiting weaker men, especially good-looking ones, under the guise of comedy, which leaves many fans cringing. No amount of parody or exaggeration can excuse Puri Puri's predatory behavior.
Moreover, Puri Puri Prisoner is also not a likable character. All he does is flaunt his naked body in fights, leaving fans wondering if his over-the-top antics are meant to be funny or just obnoxious and off-putting. First of all, none of his actions should earn him hero status, yet he still holds an S-class rank.

Gouketsu
Gouketsu is probably one of the most overrated characters out there One-Punch Maneven Genos claims that Saitama and the team of S-class heroes would defeat him. However, this claim is yet another instance of Genos underestimating Saitama and his strength, almost as if his opponent hit him too hard in the head to say such outrageous things about his master.
While Gouketsu had some feats, from toying with Suiryu to neutralizing Bakuzan's attacks in One-Punch Man He became so hyped in Season 2 that many fans expected him to be a real threat to Saitama. All his talk about his strength and being the strongest meant nothing as Saitama chopped off his head off screen. In the end, Gouketsu disappointed fans with his empty bragging and an anticlimactic off-screen defeat.

Tatsumaki
In general, Tatsumaki is one of the most popular characters in the game One-Punch Man. She is extremely strong and her sense of duty is far greater than anyone else's. Whenever there is a high-level threat in the country, Tatsumaki is always ready to neutralize it with her powerful esper abilities. Plus, she looks amazing when her powers are activated.
Unfortunately, there are still some fans who believe that Tatsumaki doesn't deserve all the praise she gets, claiming that her arrogance and hot-headedness keep her from being a fully admirable heroine. He also overshadows the other characters, especially his sister Fubuki, whose abilities often take a back seat whenever Tatsumaki is on screen.

Waganma
Waganma is probably one of the most hated characters in the series, mostly due to his bad personality and poor character design. As a child, Waganma takes no pleasure in the suffering of others, using bullying to bolster his own ego while facing virtually no consequences for his actions. He is also selfish and egotistical, always putting his own interests first but showing no empathy.
Even after Waganma was kidnapped by the Monster Association, all he did was annoy the audience with his constant whining. Not to mention he's even willing to lie just to protect himself, even when other people's lives are at stake. Fortunately, after his kidnapping, Waganma had a change of heart, realizing the consequences of his selfish actions and beginning to show signs of humility and responsibility.

The Deep King watching
Saitama has a habit of downplaying his feats most of the time One-Punch Man Season 1. While this habit is unhealthy and leaves fans frustrated by his incredible humility, it lends importance to Saitama's reputation as an entertainment hero.
During the King of the Deep arc, Saitama once again earned the hatred of the citizens after killing the Sea King with a single blow. The main culprit was a viewer who criticized the fallen heroes for their lackluster performance against the Sea King, insisting that they should do better since they are being paid for their work. As a result, Saitama felt compelled to set the record straight, insisting that all credit for defeating the Sea King should go to the fallen heroes, not him.

Do-S
One-Punch Man Season 3 is widely considered to be the worst anime of 2025, mainly due to its underwhelming animation and scenes that feel rushed, sloppy, and completely disconnected, making fans extremely angry.
Unfortunately, the third season did more damage to villains like Do-S, who was supposed to bolster the story but was reduced to little more than a fan service character with a revealing outfit. She was meant to be an intimidating villain, but her original personality in the manga series was ignored, making her far less formidable than intended.
