New season Arc Raider is here, which means it's time again to complete a new expedition to get some extra skill points and cosmetics. With some previous trash now becoming treasure, various items you may have completely ignored now will be critical if you want to progress.
So if you want to prepare for the future steps, here is a complete breakdown of all the materials you will need to complete Expedition 3.
Expedition 3 Project Steps
For all new players, the Expedition project is a long-term goal for each season. It requires you to collect and donate all of the materials below in order to progress through the various steps. While you can only do one project step at a time, smart raiders will stockpile future items in their inventory to cut down on the amount of time spent searching for some of the more obtuse items you'll need.
Here are all the project steps for Expedition 3:

The key items you'll want to save are three Breathtaking Snow Globes, Bombadier Cells, and Exodus Modules. The first of these is an Epic-tier trinket that most players would normally sell. I recommend searching for this material in Buried City, as this map has some of the best places to hunt for trinkets, such as the Grandioso Apartments and Santa Marie Houses.
For the final step of the Expedition project, you will need to donate all materials associated with their specific categories. For example, combat items include things like grenades, guns, and ammunition. I wouldn't bother too much with this project step because it's something you can naturally complete just by playing the game. The big trick is to get to step 5 as quickly as possible so that you have enough time to donate the materials. The last thing you want is to only have a few weeks to find 750k different items that you're willing to part with.

Struggling to find light bulbs in Arc Raiders? Here are some of the best places to look for your expedition project.
Advantages of the Expedition 3 project
If you're still hesitant to complete an expedition, there are some tangible benefits to going back to the beginning. These are: 24 additional inventory spaces, bonus scrap materials, increased XP gains, up to five additional skill points, and unique cosmetics associated with this expedition.
Unsurprisingly, the two biggest benefits of completing an expedition are the extra skill points and cosmetic skin you unlock. How many skill points you get is determined by the amount of money in materials and equipment you have left. For every 600,000 coins you have, you gain one skill point. This means that you will need at least 3 million coins to reach the next 5 skill points.
For those who missed previous expeditions, there is also a catch-up mechanic where lost skill points are reduced by 50 percent and cost 300,000 coins each.
What do you lose by resetting a character?
As for what you give up when doing an expedition reset, you lose all quest progress, all previous skill points, raider level, all equipment, blueprints, and workstation upgrades. While that sounds like a lot, the increased experience gains and skill points can really help you catch up to those who chose not to lose their progression.
