Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Players looking to collect all three Generation 1 Eevee evolutions may not realize that they can do so without trading with their friends. There are some Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Pokemon can only be obtained through trades, such as an exclusive version of a Pokemon or a Pokemon that evolves only through trading. And then there are the Pokémon that players can't practically get in their game unless they manage to make a trade.
The Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen starters are a good example of this. After players choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, the other two Pokémon become unavailable unless they trade them into their game. One might assume that the same would be true of Eevee's evolution in v Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen because there is only one Eevee in the game, but there is actually a way to get all Eeveelutions without trading.
Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch claim to have all 151 originals – including Mew?
The upcoming Nintendo Switch ports of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are raising some big questions about Mew.
How to get more Eevees in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
Eevee's entrance inside Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen the point is to go to the Celadon City mansion and collect the Poke Ball from the table on the top floor. Then all that's left is to collect Firestone, Waterstone or Thunderstone to evolve Eevee into Flareon, Vaporeon or Jolteon. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Evolution Stones are found in various locations in the games, but can also be purchased in Celadon City. Now the trick is getting two more Eevees, which will require players to defeat the Elite Four and get to the ending content.
Once players reach Four Island, they must leave their Eevee/Flareon/Jolteon/Vaporeon and Ditto in the Nursery there to get the Eevee Egg. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen players can catch Ditto on routes 13, 14, 15, in the Cinnabar Island Pokemon Mansion, and in the Azure Cave, although they are quite difficult to find. Dittos are super useful when it comes to breeding Pokemon.
With the Eevee egg in tow, players must walk over 9,000 steps for it to hatch. Then they can use one of the Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenEvolution Stones to get more from Eeveelution, rinse and repeat.
Most Eeveelutions are not available in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
Unfortunately for Pokemon fans who prefer some of the later evolutions of Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon are the only ones available in the game. Umbreon and Espeon are not available in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen (no trading from others Pokemon games, which is not possible in the Switch versions at the time of writing), and neither is Leafeon, Glaceon, or Sylveon.
There are rumblings that a second Game Boy Advance Pokemon the games will eventually come to the Nintendo Switch at some point. If that happens, it might be possible to get Umbreon and Espeon inside Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Possible Pokemon Home support may also enable this. But for now, the only Eeveelutions that Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen players that can make it to Switch are Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon.
