Power Rangers is one of the most popular American Tokusatsu series. There have been many powerful heroes since the original five Guardians of the Universe, but they could not reach these heights by themselves. Many of the most prominent Guardians of the Universe are guided by an equally important mentor figure who allows the Guardians to reach their full potential.
Since most of the Guardians of the Universe are teenagers, it would be extremely irresponsible to send them into battle unprepared. This is why most Rangers are accompanied by a war-hardened and often retired warrior to lead them. This means that several prominent mentors are also making their Ranger series debuts.

Captain William Mitchell is a strict but caring character

Captain William Mitchell is the leader of Lightspeed Aquabase. IN Power Rangers Light Speed Rescue, The Guardians are more uniform than other iterations and were assembled by Mitchell himself. He is also the father of the Titan and Pink Light Rangers, but that doesn't mean he gives them any leeway. He is often extremely strict on Lightspeed Ranger, but for good reason.

Mitchell may seem overly strict, but that's all part of his teaching style. She cares deeply for the Rangers, though a little more for her children. Captain WIlliam may not have the clearest of intentions, but that doesn't mean he isn't acting in the best interests of the Rangers.

Daggeron is one of the ancient mystics born The mystical power of the Power Rangers iteration and also acts as the sixth edition Rangers for the team. Still, he often acts more like a mentor than a direct addition to the team. He has immense power as a Solaris Knight and is limited in combat as it is not easy to defeat many of the weaker Guardian opponents. Daggeron spends much of the series trapped before the Mystic Guardians return him to his human form.

Having the power of a literal sun, Daggeron is one of the most powerful sixth Guardians in existence. Unfortunately, Daggeron is killed during the final battle of the Mystic Rangers, but there is a silver lining to the events. The show heavily hints that Daggeron becomes a Mystic Master like Snow Prince before him. This is never fully confirmed, but many fans of the series keep it in their personal cannon.

Cam Watanabe travels through time to help the Ninja Rangers

Cam Watanabe begins the series as the “guy in the chair” of the Ninja Storm Rangers. He constantly provides the Ninja Storm Rangers with increasingly powerful technology before eventually joining them on the battlefield. Yet in order to eventually become one of them, Cam must actually travel through time. Cam becomes a Green Samurai Ranger and continues to serve the Ninja Storm Rangers even further.
Watanabe is extremely powerful as both a Guardian and a Mentor. He gradually gives the Guardians advice, but also helps them when they really need it. That said, given his relative age to the Rangers, he's much better suited as their companion than as their leader. However, this is part of the whole essence of his character. He was never supposed to mentor a Ranger, but he did it out of necessity.

Udonna clearly has a maternal instinct towards the mystical Guardians

Udonna is the White Mystic Guardian and also the mother of the Red Mystic Guardian. She is one of the few White Rangers in the series and has the power of Snow Magic. She prefers to give instructions rather than act, only truly morphing if the Rangers are in mortal danger. This means that this decision comes from trauma rather than a lack of strength.
The mystical White Ranger provides a very maternal instinct to the Ranger team, even before she discovers that Nick Russell is actually her long-lost son. This attachment can sometimes cause it to become a misleading protection against the Guardians. She's never entirely sympathetic to the Rangers, but that has more to do with her compassion than any other implied factors.

Robert James locks when necessary

Robert James, known in the series as RJ, is completely carefree. He is a martial artist who retired to run a pizza shop. However, when a great evil comes upon the earth again, he stands up to it just as well. RJ has a wonderful way of bringing out all the best qualities in his Rangers without them realizing it. Casey Rhodes would never have unlocked his full potential if it wasn't for RJ
Like many mentors, James also serves on Power Rangers Jungle Fury team. As the Fury Guardian of the Purple Jungle, he is much more active than some of his previous mentors. He prefers to get his hands dirty and learn by doing. That said, RJ also knows when it's time to step back and have a serious discussion, making him one of the best instructors in the later series.

Billy Cranston is the original Blue Ranger, but makes several prominent appearances throughout the series. His last role was as a mentor to the Space Fury Guardians, in which he does a great job. Due to his more timid nature, he is slightly less trustworthy as a leader. That said, his years of experience fighting monsters made him somewhat battle-hardened.
It's impossible to argue that Cranston isn't a key figure in the Power Rangers franchise. Although he retired from active duty, he remained as technical support for the team for many years. He may not be the strongest Ranger in history, but he has literally decades of experience. That alone makes him an absolutely invaluable leader.

Anubis Cruger becomes the leader of the entire SPD

Anubis Cruger, like Commander Mitchell, is the central figure of the entire Power Rangers organization. Unlike Mitchell, Cruger commands literal squads of Rangers. The series may only follow the A and B Squad Rangers, but that doesn't mean they're the only teams employed by Cruger. After the events of the series, he even becomes the commander of the entire SPD
When it comes to giving orders, Cruger is cold and somewhat implacable. However, his delivery clearly comes from many years of arduous struggle. His arch nemesis is the big villain of the series and they even have the opportunity to face each other as part of the official series. As a Shadow Ranger, Cruger is practically unmasked.

Jen Scotts mentors a new generation of Rangers in the official board game

Jen Scotts is a Pink Timeforce Ranger and also serves as a mentor figure in the official Power Rangers board game. While much of her delivery depends on how you play the game, most fans agree that she plays the role well. After all, she is one of only two Pink Rangers in history to lead a team. Scotts didn't even have to change colors to accompany her new title.

Tommy Oliver is as good a mentor as he is a ranger

Tommy Oliver is arguably the best Guardian of the Universe ever, but he's also one of the best mentors. He spends an incredible amount of time as a Ranger and ends his tenure instructing a new team. Additionally, Dino Thunder is meant to be an homage to the original series, so its look is extremely fitting. As the Black Dino Thunder Ranger, Tommy is almost unbeatable, but many fans still prefer him in his original green outfit.

The series often pays tribute to the man's years of service to the Rangers and his ultimate strength. More often than not, Dino lets the Thunder Rangers do their own thing, eventually deciding to step in when things get really bad. That said, every Ranger should be extremely comforted knowing that Tommy Oliver will be the one to save them if things get serious. He's saved the universe multiple times and does a great job teaching the newer Rangers how to get rid of scarcity.

Zordon is the first recorded character to introduce the concept of morphing to humans

Zordon is the original mentor that started it all. He picked the original five Mighty Morphin Rangers and the rest is history. Without him, there would be no one to oppose Rita Repulsa, and the country would quickly collapse. Moreover, the leader even sacrifices himself to save the universe in one final act of true heroism.
Zordon's sacrifice is one of the most consistent and longest-lasting parts of the series' extensive lore. No one has yet found a way to restore it, despite Billy Cranston's extensive efforts. He may never act physically in battle, but he is extremely honest with the Rangers and puts their needs first. He even understands when Trini, Zack and Jason decide to retire. Zordon's presence is still felt in the series to this day and is without a doubt one of the most important parts of the franchise.
