Godzilla is one of the most iconic characters of all time. What was originally intended to represent the tragedy of nuclear destruction in monstrous form has become one of the most iconic figures of all time. Since his debut in the 1950s, Godzilla has appeared in several other major franchises around the world.
The most iconic Kaiju have crossed over with superheroes from the East and West and even some of the most popular anime. While Toho is extremely strict about how their iconic character is treated, the fans are even more intense. In the end, few crossovers truly embody Godzilla's iconic essence, but those that do are considered part of the Kaiju's iconic history.

A City Shrouded in Shadows The game features many of Japan's most iconic franchises
Godzilla stars alongside Karmen Rider, Ultraman and other Japanese icons
A city shrouded in shadow is one of the most interesting Kaiju related games of all time. Instead of fighting a monster, players control a civilian who is simply trying to survive a series of Kaiju attacks on Japan. It's one of the most interesting RPGs of all time, but it's rarely talked about in the west due to a lack of direct translation.

The game mainly contains Ultraman and Evangelionbut Mothra, Godzilla and Mechagodzilla also appear. The series remains one of the most underrated Godzilla crossover, but would probably be massively more popular with the English port. However, A city shrouded in shadow remains one of the most interesting Kaiju RPGs of all time.

godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4-D deserves to be a feature film
The 4-D Ride is often considered one of Universal Studios Japan's best events
godzilla vs. Evangelion is exactly the incredible crossover it sounds like. Its only major flaw is that it's a 17-minute ride in 4D rather than an actual movie. That said, the crossover movie is nothing short of a masterpiece. Japan's Universal Studio's Ride makes interesting use of Shin Godzilla's designs and even features its own Shin Godzilla-style version of King Ghidorah.
The ride is incredible. The feeling of piloting the Eva while witnessing the battle against Godzilla on a realistic scale is breathtaking. Now that the anime has gone mainstream, there's always the chance that the ride could be dubbed and ported to American Universal Studios. If that were to happen, there is absolutely no doubt that the lines would be incredibly long.

Call Of Duty Warzone: Operation Monarch has Kong and Godzilla wreaking havoc on the map
Players had to become the last man standing on an island full of titans
Call of Duty was once considered a relatively grounded FPS series that changed in the best possible way once the series hit the modern era. Once Call of Duty: Warzone came out, the franchise received a significant number of eccentric crossovers, including guys, several animated series, and most notably The Monsterverse. Both Kong and Godzilla appear Warzoneboth in the form of cosmetics and actual game events.
The collaboration was at worst described as incomplete, and it must be said that the crossover hung the characters on a nail, at least in terms of appearance. Many fans complained about technical issues with the events, but these were quickly fixed. The main detractors of the crossover come from fans who miss the more serious nature of the older series.

Kaiju #8 has a clear Godzilla reference in the second season of the series
The animal is never called Godzilla, but its theme and appearance are clearly used
Season 2 Episode 1 Kaiju #8 contains a clear reference to the most iconic Kaiju in history. The beast is never specifically named, but its coloring and theme remain incredibly consistent. The monster is defeated in a somewhat crushing fashion, but is defeated by one of the most powerful characters in the series, but many fans believe that a character as important as Godzilla should serve a more significant purpose.
Gen Narumi is supposed to be one of the most important characters in the future of anime. Kaiju #8 chose to sacrifice an iconic character simply to tell the audience how powerful Narumi is. The series didn't have to tell the audience how powerful the character was once they showed him killing a character on scale with Godzilla.
In the comics, Shredder is responsible for reviving the Kaiju
Of all the heroes to deal with the threat of Godzilla, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are probably the least prepared. That doesn't stop the writers from finding the best way for the Turtles to fight Godzilla. The comic series is still ongoing, but the final episode is planned to be one of the most epic battles the Turtles have ever seen. In the last issue, which was released on March 4, 2026, Bebop and Rocksteady took on Kaiju form, so it's likely that the turtles will do the same.
Fans will have to wait until April 1st for the next issue, and while that date is somewhat iconic, the comic is far from a joke. Many fans were extremely surprised at how the turtles were able to handle such an intense crisis. They're usually associated with ground-based threats, but they've also thwarted alien invasions, so fighting Godzilla isn't necessarily out of their wheelhouse.

Kong and Godzilla were a pivotal part of Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1
They were released as both skins and game events
at this point Fortnite is known for extensive crossover series. Kong and Godzilla were an integral part Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 Cooperation was one of the most popular parts of the game in 2025, and many fans still remember the event fondly. Despite being somewhat similar Warzone crossover, Fortnite collaboration was much better received.
Like most other video game collaborations, Fortnite received skins and in-game events. The skins are 1-to-1 designs of Kong and Godzilla, as well as items referencing other iconic Kaiju. To this day, Monsterverse skins remain some of the most popular in the entire game and are still used regularly today. Hopefully Monsterverse Season 2 will warrant the return of skins to the store or more collaborations.

godzilla vs. Marvel focuses on the most important Marvel characters
The Fantastic Four, X-Men and Avengers battle Godzilla
godzilla vs. The Marvel is a series of trade paperbacks depicting the Kaiju's reign of terror against the Marvel Universe. As usual, Monster is just trying to protect Earth again. Godzilla can fight many of the franchise's most important characters, such as Spider-Man, Thor, the X-Men, and The Incredible Hulk, but the main threat is King Ghidorah.
8 Dragon Ball Games with the Best Origin Stories, Ranked
There are a lot of Dragon Ball Z video games. While many retell stories from the anime and manga, some contain their own original stories.
The crossover uses a number of Godzilla's most iconic designs over the years. It's depicted differently in each paperback, but that probably has more to do with the artists than anything else. The series remains one of Marvel's most popular crossovers in recent years.
2
godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers represents the most iconic era of the Rangers
The comedian legitimately uses Tommy's Green Ranger form to use the Dragon Zord
Due to the Dragon Zord's similarity to Godzilla, the Kaiju battles against the Mighty Morphin Guardians of the Universe are very suitable. Guardians was one of the first to receive a comedic collaboration with the iconic character, easily setting a precedent for future comics. Plus, since the Guardians of the Universe are constantly fighting Kaiju-sized creatures, they are more than ready to handle the incoming threat.
The best anime movies on Crunchyroll
Forget TV shows, Crunchyroll has an underrated library of anime movies. We're talking all-time great movies and underrated gems.
The series eventually received a sequel series featuring some of Godzilla's more obscure foes. Both comics were incredibly well-liked and are a testament to the character's history. Interestingly, the Power Rangers comic seems to focus mostly on the Toho iteration of the beast instead of the popular monsterverse version.

Justice League Vs. Kong vs. Godzilla is the best of comic book crossovers
The series absolutely excels with both Godzilla and other classic DC characters
What's better than a single Kaiju crossover? A crossover with two of the Monsterverse's most iconic characters! Unlike Marvel, DC has managed to gain access to both of the mainstays of the Monsterverse and even manages to target their turf in the second crossover. Of the two-part comic book crossovers, DC is simply better because of its incredible story and the amount of iconic characters it collaborates with.
While Godzilla and Kong are front and center in Part 1, almost every major monsterverse character appears in Part 2. All the DC characters can do is try to survive Hollow Earth as they try to stop Amanda Waller from getting any stronger. The finale of the second part was recently released on February 25, 2026.
