A crew of Pirates can only go as far as their captain allows. The One piece the world is full of dangerous and skilled pirates, but the strongest crews find success through the leadership and skills of the people who lead them.
We have seen some tough captains doing amazing things in the series so far. It's not just Luffy who is taking all the attention, though, with the Straw Hat captain putting on one incredible performance after another. With so many notorious captains roaming the seas, the World Government has taken notice and put some ridiculous bounties on their heads. These bounties represent the highest captain bounties in the series.

Which Straw Hats have earned the highest rewards so far?
Monkey D. Luffy / Trafalgar D. Water Law / Eustass Kid – 3,000,000,000 Berry
It makes sense that members of the worst generation would have some of the highest rewards in the series. Luffy, Law, and Kid have done a lot to earn the attention of the world government, and the price on their heads shows how much of a threat they are to the people responsible for ruling the world.
Luffy has come a long way from the initial 30,000,000 Berry bounty he earned in East Blue, with the events of Marineford, Enies Lobby, Dressrosa, Wano, and more gradually increasing his bounty to what it is now. Law's bounty increased from 80,000,000 Berry to 200,000,000 earlier in the series, making him a Super Rookie. Later after the timeskip, she jumped to 440,000,000 Berry and 500,000,000 after he and Luffy defeated Doflamingo and the Donquixote Pirates. Kid started with the highest reward, earning a reward of 315,000,000 Berry for terrorizing civilians. But with how much the world government likes to cover things up and lie, who knows how much of it is true. His bounty was increased to 470,000,000 sometime during the timeskip, and he and Law had bounties of up to 3,000,000,000 Berry after battling Big Mom.
Buggy – 3,189,000,000 Berries
No figure managed to fall forward One piece just like Buggy throughout his piracy. Although notable for being a part of the Roger Pirates in his youth, Buggy just isn't the same kind of force in the pirate world as his former crewmate Shanks. But that didn't stop him from getting one of the biggest rewards in the series.
Back in East Blue, Buggy's reward reached 15,000,000 Berry. Considering how inept he is, it still seems a bit high, but it would grow to a whopping 3,189,000,000 Berry when the Seven Warlords of the Sea were abolished and Buggy was publicly recognized as the Emperor and leader of the Cross Guild. Although the Cross Guild isn't technically a pirate crew, its members are all pirates, so Buggy is their “captain” (even if it's just a name).
Blackbeard — 3,996,000,000 Berry
We don't know exactly how much his father, Rocks D. Xebca's bounty was, but we can be sure that Blackbeard is still chasing his father there. With everything he's been through, you can expect Backbeard to get an even higher bounty soon — one that would likely eclipse Rocks' bounty, though we're still waiting on an official number.
When Gecko Moria attacks Hachinosa, Blackbeard's bounty is revealed to be 2,247,600,000 Berry. A little later, his reward was increased to 3,996,000,000 Berry. We don't know exactly what actions caused Teach to receive such high rewards, but it's clear that the world government pays close attention to the Blackbeard Pirates and takes the threat they pose to their government very seriously.
Big Mom – 4,388,000,000 Berry
As a former emperor and leader of one of the biggest crews around, Big Mom is an absolute force of nature in the pirate world. As a former member of the Rocks Pirates and a current user of Soru Soru no Mi, it's easy to see why Big Mom received such a large reward as she did.
At only six years old, Linlin was rewarded with 50,000,000 Berry when she teamed up with Streusen. She would later earn a reward of 500,000,000 Berry and this reward would increase to 4,388,000,000 Berry before the events of the Whole Cake Island Arc. Big Mom was one of the great pirates of her era, so seeing the world government place such a high price on her makes sense.
Kaido — 4,611,100,000 Berries
Another former member of the Rocks Pirates, Kaido, proved to be the fearsome force his reputation suggested. Beast Pirates Captain Kaido leads one of the largest and most powerful crews in the modern One Piece world.
When he was 13, Kaido earned a bounty of 70,000,000 Berry for escaping from a marine ship, putting a huge target on his back at a young age, just like Big Mom. Between the time he was a member of the Rocks Pirates and the events that took place in Wano, Kaido had done enough to earn a whopping 4,611,100,000 Berry rewards.
Shanks — 4,048,900,000 Berry
As we get deeper and deeper One Piece's endgame, it's becoming increasingly clear that Shanks will play an even more important role than fans thought. One of the Four Emperors, a member of House Figarland and a former member of the Roger Pirates, it's easy to see why Shanks' bounty is as high as it is.

Shanks only had two recorded rewards in the entire series. At the start of the series, Shanks' bounty was set at 1,040,000,000 Berry. By the time the World Government got rid of the Seven Warrior System, Shanks' bounty had grown to today's 4,048,900,000 berries. With all the time he's spent at sea and his brief return to the Figarland family, it's not hard to guess how Shanks' bounty got as high as it is. You have to assume that his theft of Gomu Gomu no Mi, given what we know about it now, definitely played a big part in him getting one of the highest rewards in the series.
Whitebeard – 5,046,000,000 Berry
Like many of the captains on this list, Whitebeard had quite the illustrious career by the time we started following Luffy's own path to greatness. A former member of the Rocks Pirates alongside Big Mom and Kaido, Whitebeard was considered the strongest pirate alive after Roger's death, earning the title of World's Strongest Man.
His reputation, massive crew, and incredibly powerful Gura Gura no Mi Devil Fruit made him one of the greatest threats to the world government. Before his death, Whitebeard was the strongest of the four emperors, so it makes sense that he earned the highest reward of the group.
Gol D. Roger – 5,564,800,000 Berry
The captain of the Roger Pirates, Gol D. Roger, considered the greatest pirate of all time and earning the title of Pirate King, was one of the most important characters in One piece history. Roger was part of some of the most significant events in the series, starting the Great Pirate Era with his execution at the hands of the World Government.
Roger received the highest bounty of any pirate in history, no other pirate has come close since his death. Whitebeard is the only other character to surpass 5,000,000,000 Berry, and with the way things are going, Luffy, Blackbeard, and Shanks have a chance to come close to or even surpass Roger's bounty. But it looks like the pirate king is winning.
