In 2025, Netflix unveiled what is probably their biggest anime project of all time, and that is the anime adaptation of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7. Better known as Steel Ball Run, this series is a fan favorite segment of the great Shonen story written by Hirohiko Araki. After a long wait, the SBR anime adaptation is coming out later this month and fans couldn't be more excited. Steel Ball Run runs on Netflix on March 19, 2026, marking the beginning of a new era for Jojo.

It is not yet clear how many episodes this episode will have. In the manga, part 7 is quite long and based on the previous Jojo parts, it could be 40-50 episodes. It is also unclear at this time how Jojo Part 7 will stream. Netflix is known for dropping series all at once, which anime fans usually don't like. However, there is an equal possibility that new episodes will be released every week. One thing that is already clear is that Jojo Part 7 will need to be split into multiple courses. In terms of source material, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7 is considered one of the greatest stories. However, when it comes to the anime adaptation, many have concerns. Jojo has always been a decent anime, but aside from part 5, the quality of the adaptation has been mostly below average. Most of the Jojo episodes feature mediocre animation and direction, but the quality took a particularly hit during episode 6.

Fans are especially worried about part 7, as it will theoretically be even harder to animate because of the horses involved in the plot.
