The Far Cry the series has been around for over 20 years. Since its original inception by Crytek, the game has become the flagship of the series for Ubisoft, who bought the rights to the series in 2006. Since then, Ubisoft has created one or two entries in the series in each console generation, and many inspired game developers have picked up on the formula or adopted elements Far Crydesign.
Each of the games on this list will relate in some way to the gameplay, game fantasy, or mechanics of items from Far Cry series. Basically, this means that these are open-world shooters that rely on sandbox elements, stealth elements, or both to change their gameplay.

Homefront: The Revolution
Urban Far Cry
Homefront: The Revolution is a perfect and controversial choice for this discussion. On the one hand, the game plays like an urban one Far Crywith the shooting and world structure being almost identical to earlier entries in the Ubisoft franchise. Crytek even supported Dambuster in the development process, which could explain the similarities between the two IPs.
The city is divided into enemy zones that need to be cleared, and the entire map is littered with enemy bases, checkpoints and patrol nodes. More importantly, the gameplay loop revolves around exploring, disrupting, and attacking these points, which is identical to Far Cry. Homefront: The Revolution it gives players relative freedom to approach scenarios as they see fit and encourages all-out assault or stealth. Like almost everyone Far Cry Stories, the campaign shows how you gradually destabilize the enemy's control over the region, although you are not an outsider in it HTR.
So it all sounds great, but HTR not exactly fantastic. Don't get me wrong, the game is better than its reputation, but it's still an ultimately forgettable open-world shooter. Still, it's worth checking out if you've got the itch Far Cry but i don't want to Far Cry.

Anger 2
DOOM meets Far Cry
Anger 2 received a rather mixed reception in 2019, but has more than enough positives to warrant a recommendation (especially for Far Cry fans). Before we get to the power of the game, let's briefly mention the negatives, because we can't pretend they don't exist. Anger 2The open world is probably its worst aspect, as the post-apocalyptic wasteland isn't visually interesting, novel, or even that fun. Damn, the developer is older Mad Max the game has a much better approach to this type of setting. The ride is surprisingly slow and unthreatening… despite Avalanche once again knocking that aspect out of the park in Mad Max.
Ok, those are the main negatives, so now let's get to the highlights. Id Software lent a helping hand during the development process and it's very evident as the gunplay is basically fair Fate. in other words Anger 2 has incredibly satisfying gameplay that compares to Far Crya statement I do not make lightly. In addition to weapons that feel great, players also unlock Nanotrite abilities that are absolutely brilliant to incorporate into combat. Make sure you unlock them as soon as possible.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
The most similar game to Far Cry
Made by Ubisoft, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is probably as close as one can get to ka Far Cry a non-franchise game. Set in James Cameron's Avatar franchise, this edition plays, feels, and often looks Far Cryexcept for a few differences. As a player created Na'vi captured by human forces, players use their influence as a perceived extinct to aid and unite the other clans against human invaders who want to steal the resources found on Pandora.

Dying light
Dead Island Meet Parkour
Dying light is a very purposeful game. While many Ubisoft projects can feel bloated with how many mechanics they have or how much content they offer, Dying light is very no. Aside from a possibly stingy XP system that makes it difficult to acquire skills in the early game, this is a focused take on a parkour zombie game. There's a map, markers, and sandbox elements, but each one is committed to a zombie boost or a parkour part. Dying light.
There are no vehicles in the base game, as the fastest way to move around the map is to run freely on rooftops. With so many craftable weapons, parkour moves, and environmental hazards to exploit, there's plenty of room for experimentation in the sandbox.

Halo Infinite (Campaign)

The first game in the franchise to go completely open world, Halo Infinite combines the seamless vehicle combat and armor capabilities of the original trilogy and Halo: Achieve with an open structure. The product is a game that plays similar to Far Crybut in a way that isn't completely separate from the Halo universe. It reminds Hello 3's “Believe” marketing where the sprawling UNSC faces dire circumstances and hopes to be saved by some miracle.
As Master Chief, players take care of this wonder, wielding tanks, warthogs, grappling hooks, and an extensive array of weapons to provide relief to the stranded Marines of Zeta Halo. The real highlight is the grappling hook, which when upgraded turns Master Chief into Spider-Man from a first-person perspective.
The ultimate open world game for urgent play (and base cleaning)
In terms of minute gameplay, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain not comparable to Far Cryand I definitely wouldn't recommend Konami's third-person shooter to anyone looking for a fast-paced first-person shooter. However, the games share quite a few similarities beyond this point. Like almost everyone Far Cry, MGS5 takes place in an open world full of bases, with nearly every mission requiring players (and Venom Snake) to infiltrate, eliminate, and complete. Stealth is naturally a big part of a player's toolkit, but it doesn't have to be the focus.
MGS5Its strongest point is the freedom it gives players when planning their missions. The game not only allows but also encourages experimentation and different strategies, even more than Far Cry. You can use stealth infiltration, long-range sniping, or just an all-out assault (which can use vehicles). The point is urgent gameplay. Although the open world is quite barren, Phantom pain it also takes place in a unique region that most people will never visit.

Just Cause 3 has the most comical sandbox on this list and it's up there Goat simulator when it comes to goofy open world experiences. For those who haven't played, its gameplay is similar to superhero games due to the sheer absurdity of the stunts you can pull off, even though it may look like it.

Crytek developed only the first Far Cry a game that ultimately isn't that representative of the series as a whole. However, it still laid the groundwork that eventually blossomed into one of the biggest open-world fps franchises of 2010. After launching one new IP, Crytek repeated the process a few years later Crysisreplicating a lot Far Crythoughts in process.
Players will once again explore the exotic jungle environment, albeit divided into large levels rather than a full-fledged open world. Although the game is linear, it favors flexible combat, as you have the right to decide which approach to take when clearing most of the enemy camps. Enemies are quite aggressive and react based on your actions rather than a set scenario; as a result, replays can feel relatively different if you opt for a different playstyle. Even more than Far Cry, Crysis is a powerful fantasy that puts players in the role of a one-man wrecking crew, and you even have sci-fi armor to help you in the process. Despite your nanosuit, you're still vulnerable, so you can't just blast your way through without even thinking about your actions.
