Marathonlike most other extraction shooters, it's all about loot and getting better and better loadouts to help you survive tougher zones where PvP and PvE are pushed to the extreme levels possible, forcing you to use everything at your disposal to get even more valuable loot and safely exfil in one piece. And since Marathon leans on the “harder” side of things, that's a lot easier said than done.
Fortunately, there are ways to get some decent gear before you enter a zone, via the Armory or Sponsored Sets, allowing you to spend your hard-earned credits on loot, allowing you to handle things with a little more confidence if your Vault runs a little dry. Still, it's not like everything will be available to buy out of the gate, so it's one of the many things you should prioritize early on!

How to unlock more items in the armory
Now that the basics of the armory are covered, it's time to move on to how to expand it, which requires quite a bit of work for each faction. you see the only way to unlock more gear is to gain faction reputation, then spend your hard-earned resources to unlock it to make it available in a specific faction's armory. This is essential to note as each faction has different specialties, so one may be more focused on what you need more than others.
For example, Traxus Faction mainly specializes in Attachments to weapons, meaning most of their unlocks will be focused on that aspect of your loadout. At the same time, Arachne Faction is fixated more on PvP focused implants and weapons, as it is Combat Shotgun WSTR. So if you want to take full advantage of everything the armory has to offer, you'll be crushing each faction as they all offer excellent gear that can be combined together to create a powerful build!
