While Pokemon Champions expects you to use Pokemon Home to transfer most of the Pokemon you'll be using from other games, you can also borrow Pokemon from the in-game recruitment option if you don't have any Pokemon to transfer or want to try something new.
To do this, you must first go through the tutorial, which includes fighting Cordy, recruiting one free Pokemon, and completing your first ranked battle. Once you've completed all of that, you'll have access to the main menu where you can recruit even more Pokemon.
How to get new Pokemon from Roster Ranch
As you may have guessed from the title of this section, You can't keep Pokemon you get from Roster Ranch unless you pay the VP cost to recruit them permanently.. You can instead consider them a Pokémon for hirewhich is something you may be familiar with if you've played Pokémon Stadium.
You'll already rent one for a trial period during the tutorial, but if you want to rent or collect more Pokemon, you'll need to do so after accessing the main menu. when you do return to the Roster Ranch by selecting the Recruit option, then select the first option, 'Recruit Pokemon'.
Pokemon can only be recruited once every 22 hourswhere you will see a brand new lineup. he said that this wait time can be sped up with quick coupons or by spending VP. If you choose the recruitment option before your scheduled time, the number of coupons or VP required will be the same scaled by how much time you have left.
at this point 10 Pokemon will be randomly selected from the available list of Pokemon in the game and presented to you. There will never be duplicate Pokemon in the same lineup and you will only be able to choose onewhich you can then rent for a trial period or take up permanently.
No matter which option you choose, once you pick a Pokemon, you'll be forced to wait 22 hours for the next Pokemon list. for this reason even if there's more than one Pokemon you'd like on the list, pick the one you care about more because there's no telling when they'll reappear.
That is also the reason Transferring your favorites from Pokémon Home is highly recommendedas there are no known limitations other than your box limit and it allows you to have all the Pokemon you want from the start.
Recruiting and transferring Pokemon can start to fill your boxes pretty quickly and you'll need a paid membership to expand it, so keep that in mind before you start looking at it as a collection rather than a team building box.
Here is every ability for the new mega evolutions in pokemon champions
Pokemon Champions gave a bunch of new Mega Evolutions new abilities, and we've got a handy list of what they are and what they do.
What is the difference between probationary period and permanent recruitment
As mentioned, you will have two options when it comes to recruiting Pokemon. The default is a trial period. The trial period is seven days, and since this is a temporary Pokemon rental, you won't be able to train trial Pokemon and change their stats.
Even if you're pretty sure you'd like to hire permanently, we strongly recommend that you try out each Pokemon first. There are no consequences and it saves you from wasting tickets on VPs or teammates that you might regret later.
If you decide you want to have this Pokemon, or find one you'd like to keep permanently, you'll need to spend VP. This Pokemon will then become a permanent recruit and you will be able to use them as if they were another Pokemon transferred from Pokemon Home.
Trial recruitment will always be free after a specified waiting period, while permanent recruitment will cost you 2500 VB per Pokémon.. You can too use one Teammate Ticket to avoid paying the VP costif you have one. These are generally pretty limited and earned through the free and premium battle pass, so don't spend them lightly if you're not sure you intend to use the Pokemon.
This means that if you don't have enough VP to consistently recruit Pokemon, you're not completely out of luck. All you have to do is pick them up for a free trial and then pay the cost before this seven day period expires. So, even if you're not permanently recruiting at Roster Ranch, you'll always have the option to do so from your box.
A yellow hourglass icon on a Pokemon in your field means it's a trial Pokemon. You can check how much time you have left to summarize them.
To do this, open the inbox and select 'Recruit Permanently'. The same cost quote as before will appear and ask you to confirm the amount. This amount will never change, no matter how much trial time is left, and once you pay it, you'll have access to that Pokemon forever and can claim it as yours.
