The Sims 4 PlayStation and Xbox gamers are catching up with their PC counterparts with a new update that brings the controversial Marketplace game to the console. Not everyone on PC will warm to the presence of The Marketplace The Sims 4which offers a wide variety of paid custom creations, but console gamers may have a different opinion.
Marketplace was first announced in early March as part of The Sims 4's Maker Program and was incorporated into the game's launch center on March 17th. Providing a dedicated in-game store that allows players to pick up select pieces of custom content for real money is also a way for creators to monetize their own content creations.

The controversial marketplace The Sims 4 has come to consoles
Now, Maker Packs and Maker Kits filled with such custom content are available on new platforms as The Marketplace has expanded to include both the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game. Players on these consoles can now view Marketplace selections, make purchases, and incorporate their selected custom content into The Sims 4 without restarting the game. Before players can actually pick up any content offered through Maker, they should be aware that they are required to convert their real money into a special currency called Moola through The Marketplace, which can then be used to make purchases in the special store.
The Marketplace performance did not go well at all The Sims 4 player on PC. Backlash arose from much of the gaming community due to a number of different factors, including The Marketplace breaking long-established mods, a perceived suppression of the artistic freedoms of Maker Program members, and other monetization The Sims 4 despite the free-to-play model it adopted years ago. The backlash grew so strong that some players started using a mod that removes The Marketplace The Sims 4thus completely eliminating the Moola wallet and access to the special store.
Still, console players may have a softer reaction to The Marketplace. Console players looking to expand their gaming experience usually have to do so by purchasing official expansions, packs, and so on, as there's never been a reliable way to access fan mods or custom content outside of the PC version of the game. While console players will still have to pay to add any content from The Marketplace to their games, they are not required to use it, and it offers another avenue for adding more clothing and furniture options to a player's repertoire. Additionally, extended content is added to The Marketplace every week, providing players with more options on a regular basis.
