Pokemon Go developer Niantic has pulled back the curtain on its plans for May, revealing the Raid Day events planned for this month. 10th anniversary Pokemon Go is coming in July, and Niantic has teased how it will resemble the major milestone. Over the last decade, the game has become an important part Pokemon a franchise that brings in newcomers while attracting lapsed fans.
As May approaches, there have already been several announcements Pokemon Go. There will be two Community Day events this month. Pokemon Go will have Lechonk Community Day on May 9, while the Community Day Classic will be held on May 16. Niantic did not reveal which Pokemon will return to the spotlight for the latter event.

Pokemon Go fans can look forward to two different Raid Day events in May. Entei Shadow Raid Day will take place on May 2nd, spotlighting the legendary Pokemon that first appeared in the Johto region. The Fire type has gotten a lot of attention lately Pokemon Go has an Entei encounter as an April GO Pass reward. For those worried that they won't be able to complete the GO Pass before time runs out, Shadow Raid Day is another opportunity to add Entei to the Pokedex. Players will also have an increased chance to encounter Shiny Entei during next month's event. The Remote Raid limit will also be increased to 20. In addition, Shadow Cresselia will appear in Shadow Raids between May 6th and June 2nd.
At this time details for Pokemon GoMega Raid Day on May 23 has not been revealed. However, Mega Camerupt, Mega Glalie, Mega Altaria, and Mega Medicham will appear in Mega Raids, each taking a role each week. Five-Star Raids will feature Pokemon from Alola, with Nihilego, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini appearing for all players. From May 13 to 19, Five-Star Raids will vary by region, with Buzzwole available in America and Greenland, Pheromosa in Europe, Middle East and India, and Xurkitree in Asia-Pacific locations.
In addition to all that is planned for this month, a big event will start rolling at the end of May. Pokemon GO Fest 2026's first in-person event kicks off next month in Tokyo, followed by events in Chicago and Copenhagen in June. Fans who cannot attend in person Pokemon Go event will still participate in the festivities, but they will have to wait a little longer because the Global event will be held in July. Few details have been revealed, but Pokemon GO Fest 2026 will be heavily focused on Mewtwo.
