When it comes to the best superhero games ever made, most fans (and I) would probably nominate Marvel's Spider-Man or Batman: Arkham City as two top-level options. Just because these games are good with iconic heroes doesn't mean they have the most powerful, earth-shattering superheroes in gaming history. Even the worst or mid-level games can have over the top characters.

5 Superhero Games That Have Better Writing Than The MCU
These games may not boast the kind of spectacle you'll see in the big-budget MCU movies, but they certainly have great writing and characters.
Because the power dynamics in fighting games are so wild, no fighting game superheroes will be nominated. That's a whole other list idea. So now let's focus on the superheroes and anti-heroes who are the best of the best in terms of raw power and abilities, whether they are playable in the following games or not.
Also, these heroes may be stronger in other media, but all that matters is how strong they are and how they feel in the game.

Jackie Estacado
Demon Run Mob
IN Blackness, Jackie Estacado rises from mob thug to mob boss in this sequel. In the second game, he again makes a pact with demons to strengthen his soul beyond his weapon skills. He can use demonic tentacles to grab enemies and tear them apart, or he can grab objects and use them as weapons, such as launching a pool cue as a spear. He can also send little goblins to do his bidding for him, from attacking enemies to grabbing things like car doors to use as shields. Demons are weak to light, leaving Jackie vulnerable to attack, so there are downsides.
9
Phoenix
Fire mage
In the X-Men comics, Phoenix is a reborn version of Jean Grey, and exists as a cosmic entity. It is less cosmically charged Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Orderbut he is definitely a very strong character. To get her, you need to purchase the DLC and then her mission must be cleared. Even at her base, Phoenix can command any battlefield with light and powerful attacks with her fire waves that have a devastating area of effect. Her flight is also useful in combat to avoid attacks. Her specials, while powerful, are more of a cherry on top of an otherwise powerful character whose strengths are better in the comics and less versatile in this game.
Comics Phoenix would be either 1st or 2nd, but not even close Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.
8
Wolverine
He could have gone all day
Wolverine is a classic superhero from the X-Men comics who has been in many video games, but among them all X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the one that best demonstrates its lethality. At his core, Wolverine's non-video game abilities are super strength, enhanced by his Adamantium skeleton that gives him extra defense and claws that can rip through anything. He also has regenerative powers where he slowly ages and cannot die. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a video game, so players can lose, but health recharges during missions. Wolverine is a force of nature in the game with his claws, so overall his will keeps him going.
7
Careful Joe
Check the time and look cool while doing it
Joe, or Viewtiful Joe as he transforms in the game, comes from Careful Joe series and most major entries will find Joe with similar power lineups. He is an ordinary guy who loves movies until one day he gets his own powers to transform into a red uniform similar to the Guardians of the Universe and fight evil.

Superhero games with the best graphics
From space travel to web travel, all these superhero games look top-notch thanks to their top-notch graphics and stellar art direction.
In his super suit, Joe can slow down time and in this state not only is it easier to dodge enemies, but his punches and kicks carry more weight. He can also speed up time, making his attacks lightning fast. Any hero that has some form of time manipulation will have a guaranteed advantage in combat.
6
Symbiote Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
Infused with poison
IN Marvel's Spider-Man 2Players can take on the role of Peter Parker or Miles Morales, and while Miles is a strong hero, Peter has an advantage. The story follows the Venom storyline from the comics, albeit with an Insomniac Games twist, where Peter's powers are enhanced with his Black Suit version, giving him the agility of his normal build along with strength and area-affecting attacks that even the Hulk would have trouble fighting. He later acquires the white Anti-Venom suit, which is like a god-like set of powers that allow Peter to control Venom instead of it affecting his mind. As a late-game addition, it's like getting Mario's Super Star power-up for hours, so this is definitely a stronger version of Peter in Spider-Man.

Hulk
You wouldn't like him when he's angry
The Hulk is another classic Marvel character who is no stranger to video games, and anyone familiar with the MCU comics or movies understands that scientist Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk after being poisoned by radiation and then gets pissed off as well. The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction features Bruce as the Hulk, and in his powered-up state, the hero is nearly immune to damage, has incredible speed for his size, and can smash through cars like they're nothing and even move buildings. The Hulk can smash anything into pieces with his fists and can even turn metal into boxing gloves. Anyone who wants to feel empowered in a game should give this title a shot, even though the hero is shown to be even stronger in the comics and movies.
4
Boss
Breaking the fourth wall of superhero reality
A boss is a player-created character Saints Row 4 who is not only in charge of the 3rd Street Saints gang, but also becomes the President of the United States. After an alien attack, players are thrown into an alternate reality created by the invaders, which then gives the boss superpowers after her allies help break some of the programming. By collecting resources and continuing through the campaign, players can use superpowers to level up The Boss as much as they want. They can learn to fly, freeze enemies, run at lightning speed, throw things with telekinesis, and much more. The boss is potentially unstoppable, but only inside the simulation, except for the final mission. With the help of the armor, The Boss can continue to use his abilities, so while The Boss is strong in gadgets, he is not naturally gifted.
3
Alex Mercer
Anti-Hulk
Prototype was developed by the same studio as The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate DestructionRadical Entertainment. This original idea started Alex Mercer, a human who goes through experiments and catches a virus that allows him to transform his body at will. He can turn his arms into giant blade-like swords or fists that can smash things. He can walk up to anyone on the street, absorb them into his bloodstream, and then replicate their DNA to become him as the ultimate cloaking kit. He can also run on buildings and glide, and those are just a handful of basic abilities. With his transformational powers, Alex is like a one-man army.
2
Cole McGrath
Let The Beast Out
Cole MacGrath is the hero of the first two inglorious games, with his powers becoming much stronger in the sequel. His body is imbued with electricity, so he can incapacitate enemies with a variety of punches, grind along rails like an electric motor, or glide across the open world of New Marais. He is also able to absorb some powers from two new allies, Lucy and Nix, who can control ice and fire power.

10 Action Games where movement is a real superpower
These action-packed forward motion games will make you feel like a speed demon.
infamous 2 is a game of choice, and if players choose to be evil during their campaign, then they can essentially become The Beast, the villain of the story. Cole can absorb his powers and become a godlike entity with almost unlimited power, which has yet to be fully explored in the game, but the potential is terrifying.
1
A phenomaniac
A noble hero who could go nuclear
Phenomaman is one of the strongest and most respected superheroes Sendbut his life falls apart a bit at the beginning of the game. He is an alien who came to Earth years ago and has the power of super strength, flight and super speed as his base. While most of his normal abilities are demonstrated throughout the game, it is the absorption power that is more of a threat. He tells the protagonist, Robert Robertson III, that he could absorb the power of the sun and then use it to detonate a nuclear weapon on Earth. It is not a threat; he's just depressed, but this revelation has merit. If that doesn't sound like a terrifying superhero power, then nothing does.
Bonus Top Pick: Saitama
We went back and forth on whether to use Saitama because he's more of a mechanic than a character One-Punch Man: The Hero Nobody Knowsbut he is technically the strongest superhero in any game. Just like the manga and anime, it defeats any opponent with a single punch, regardless of their strength. Even though he wouldn't be able to do anything, if Phenomaman decided to blast Earth out of space, he would win the one-on-one fight.
