Elden Ring Switch 2 Edition release date seemingly leaked

Although it's been more than four years since the Elden Ring first graced our consoles in 2022, FromSoftware's title has never left the minds of its most die-hard fans, and in fact, Elden Ring fever is on the way again.

One, because Alex Garland of Warfare, Civil War, and 28 Years Later fame is directing the live-action adaptation of the video game. And two, because the Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to receive its previously announced port.

Things could be changing quite soon on the Switch 2 side, as Canadian video game and collectibles retailer PNP Games may have inadvertently revealed the release date of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.

As first spotted on Reddit, the title will seemingly launch as a Game-Key Card on July 10th, which is a Friday, a day when most modern video games are often released.

At the time of writing, the release date is still displayed on the PNP site and has yet to be removed. For those not keeping up, the Tainted Edition of the Elden Ring will include the following:

The original game, the 'Shadow of the Erdtree' expansion and Torrent's new armor and skin customization features.

A month ago, Amazon opened pre-orders for the Elden Ring Switch 2 port on its website, although that listing did not include a release date. There's still no release date on Amazon's side, but of course that could change once the release date is formally announced.

Elden Ring, which has reached 30 million in sales, is not the end for FromSoftware, but just the beginning

FromSoftware's success is well deserved and should be the focus, but I can't wait to see what happens next.

When it could be is anyone's guess. Nintendo has been rumored to hold a live presentation in June, so that would be a ripe time for the reveal. However, Nintendo also plays by its own rules, as evidenced by the out-of-the-box Star Fox reveal.

Port Elden Ring Switch 2 was highly anticipated

With the increase in power of the Switch 2, fans have been clamoring for more third-party releases, and none have been as anticipated as Elden Ring. After all, what could be better than playing FromSoftware on the go? Nothing, that's it.

However, the port of the title was delayed, presumably due to optimization, and Bandai Namco mostly kept quiet. It reappeared earlier this year at the Game Developers' Conference (GDC) and ran noticeably better, both docked and handheld.

That pre-orders have gone live and a release date has seemingly been leaked should only add to the speculation that it's ready.
