Crossover event Alan Wake v Phasmophobia is what happens when ghost hunting collides with a manuscript written after too much coffee. Familiar maps have been twisted into strange fairy-tale versions of themselves, complete with shadowy figures, glowing messages hidden in the dark, and enough spooky dolls to make you reconsider checking each room once more.
The Alan Wake-inspired action features new mechanics built around Words of Power, Dark Presences, and a multi-level puzzle with a doll hidden in the lobby. Whether you're going for Event Points, hunting for cosmetics, or trying to figure out why there's a whispering shadow man in the corner of the farm again, there's a lot going on during this crossover.
How the Alan Wake event works
Alan Wake takes place across themed versions of your typical pre-existing investigation maps. While the layouts are mostly familiar, each location contains unique event objects, including Words of power, dark presences, dolls, and their corresponding puzzles.
Event maps include: Oh Deer Diner, Cauldron Lake, Coffee World and Elderwood Palace Lodge. You'll find them marked on the treaty voting board in the hall, marked by a few notes in the upper right corner of the polaroid image of the map.
During the investigation you can earn points for events that contribute to personal and community progress. Progression in the event only counts if the contract is played with at least a x1.00 difficulty multiplier, meaning that inherent difficulties below this threshold do not award points.
Correct ghost identification valuation ten event points. Revealing Words of Power valuation two points each, while banishes dark presences grants two points per subject.
Difficulty modifiers further increase point gains, making higher difficulty investigations the fastest way to progress through events.

What are dark presences?
Dark presences they are shadow figures can be found on the event maps. They are completely immobile but emit a whisper that makes them easy to track down in quiet areas.
To remove them, you must grab the Angel Lamp from the investigation vanfound only in the camera monitor. Once a The Dark Presence is located, hold the Apply button while pointing the lamp directly at the figure. After a few seconds, the light overwhelms the entity, forcing it to disappear in a sparkling explosion of light.
Maps can contain up to 20 Dark Presence spawns in total.
How words of power work
Words of power are hidden phrases it can only detect using UV light. While exploring the map glowing yellow arrows appears nearby when the hidden word is near. Following the arrows eventually leads to ka spiral cluster of glowing letters hidden somewhere nearby.
Once found, shine a UV light directly on the Word of Power. The darkness around the letters slowly burns until the word disappears completely.
If you are playing with friends, each player must reveal their own Word of Power, as progress does not transfer between players. Once you reveal it, the word disappears for you, but remains visible to anyone else in the game until they reveal it themselves.
How to solve the doll puzzle
Throughout the event, you can find a various dolls hidden across thematic investigative maps. Some dolls simply work as collectibles, while others do puzzle pieces needed to complete the final challenge in the lobby.
Dolls are usually tucked away on shelves, in tents, on tables, or hidden in small corners of the map, so careful exploration is important when investigating. You can only find them in specific locations on the event map.
After collecting dolls on the event maps, you will gain access to ka the last puzzle hidden in the game lobby. Near the central counter is a collection of chalk drawings next to the dolls used for the puzzle.
Each stage requires placing specific dolls on the corresponding chalk symbols. After solving one stage, the puzzle resets with a new layout.
