Outfits symbolize how far the player has come in Sea of Thieves, so it’s vital they have a great set of clothes to show off their skills. While outfits in Sea of Thieves won’t affect how successful the player is in a battle, they still look fantastic. There are many sets to choose from, and players are often encouraged to mix and match items or choose a set to coordinate with their crew and ship.

Sea Of Thieves: Best Weapons, Ranked
The combat in Sea of Thieves can seem simple but it actually carries many nuances and each weapon has a learning curve, but which ones are the best?
While mixing and matching is fun, sets can mean much more than simply having the gold or Ancient Coins to afford such an item. Outfits can represent how far the crew has come, where they’ve sailed, and what they’re working towards. Outfits are personal stories of the crew’s journey, but some are worth showing off more than others.
Updated October 24th, 2024, by Gemma Johnson:Sea of Thieves continues to give players countless opportunities to customize their pirate outfits, whether through unlockable in-game rewards, the Pirate Emporium, or elsewhere. While some Sea of Thieves outfits feature classic pirate looks, others showcase flashier or unique designs for virtually every taste. For those players looking for a cool Sea of Thieves outfit, there’s a new pirate hat, pegleg, or complete costume around every corner. Although what counts as cool is entirely subjective, some of the best outfits in Sea of Thieves could also offer players additional benefits, such as the opportunity to display in-game progression or achievements. Sea of Thieves’ recent focus on stealth in Season 14 also gives players more opportunities to get creative with different pirate looks to help them hide in the shadows. This update adds two new entries and updates the existing entries, including the ranking order.

Purchasable from the in-game outpost clothing store using gold. |

Although functional armor doesn’t exist in Sea of Thieves, one outfit set will convince the crew they have some decent, strong armor to protect them from pesky skeletons. It will also make them feel a little wealthier and maybe a bit more sophisticated.
The Imperial Sovereign set rocks gold-plated armor from helmet to breastplate to golden-tipped shoes. Though it doesn’t show off any golden metal, it compensates through golden silks for the belt and arms. It looks strong, regal, and at its best when it hits the sun. It’s perfect for a gold-hunting pirate or a wannabe knight.
23 Bone Crusher And Fearless Bone Crusher Outfits

Bone Crusher outfit could signal to other players that the player has played Sea of Thieves for a long time. |
While perhaps not the most practical outfit to wear when sailing the high seas, the Bone Crusher or Fearless Bonecrusher green variant sets look like the crew has been through its fair share of skeleton fights. Both sets place bones on nearly every part of this outfit, even forcing the poor pirate to walk on what looks like a spine, which can’t be comfortable.

Obtain Hoarder of Barnacled Gold Commendation. |
Could signal to other players that the player has played Sea of Thieves for a long time. |
Most of the time, when a new Sea of Thieves solo player arrives, they might choose the brightest ship and outfit they can. This can be great for those good at combat since other players may easily spot the ship, but players less skilled in PVP may prefer a subtle yet cool ship design and outfit.
The Silent Barnacle outfit is a variant of the original Wailing Barnacle set. It looks like the average clothes that any pirate might wear but has little barnacles placed on the jacket, gloves, eyepatch, and wherever else they fit. It features lovely colors and is enough to blend in yet still feel like a true pirate.

Sea of Thieves has many Pirates of the Caribbean-themed outfits available for players to purchase in the Pirate Emporium and could be a good option for those wondering what to buy with Sea of Thieves‘ Ancient Coins. Season 9 has some noteworthy additions with the Redd and Tia Dalma costumes. Redd takes inspiration from the infamous pirate Redd in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride, where fans of the namesake movies may enjoy stepping into the role of Tia Dalma, also known as sea goddess Calypso.
Many Sea of Thieves fans prefer classic, understated pirate wear, making either costume one of the best traditional outfits added to the game.

Going from subtle to deadly, the Ferry of the Damned is a place no one wants to be, especially since it typically means their ship or crew is in danger. Unfortunately, there’s not much to do there except bother the Ferryman, who looks so awesome it wouldn’t be surprising if some players want to look just like him.
With the Ferry of the Damned set, they can. It’s an outfit with a greenish tinge and looks straight out of the depths of that stressful ship. Anyone who feels like they spend all their time on the Ferry can finally feel like they belong.

The Lionfish costume is anything but subtle and will certainly not make the crew look like formidable pirates. It may even help them blend in with the fish in the sea rather than on their ship. Nevertheless, what pirate doesn’t want to look like a bright-colored Lionfish? It has a great mask to hide the pirate’s identity and is one of the funnier outfits that’s well worth Sea of Thieves‘ Ancient Coins.
A similar addition is the Wrecker Wrangler costume, which has more ferocious vibes with its sharp-toothed headpiece and spiked appearance worth a jump-scare underwater.

It’s also one of few comes that come with an emote, called the ice emote.
The first design features a lavish coat and is the most understated of the three but is said to be the clothing of choice for frozen freebooters who sail in the icy winds. The second turns the players’ skin blue with the cold beginning to set in, making it look like a Sea of Thieves curse. The third design is the most intense, turning the player’s pirate body into a living icicle as a result of the Creeping Cold and ships becoming frozen in time.
