When you reach the Tomb of Perdition, fight your way through the moving platforms until you reach the Abyss Gate. Step on it to trigger a fast travel point, then look at the cage. Before we do anything, climb up to the roof of the cage and look to the right. You will see a treasure chest embedded in the wall. Inside will be Surge III Abyss Gear and Faded Abyss Artifact.

Jump back down to where the Abyss Gate is and use your Axiom Force on the yellow switch under the cage. This will cause the cage to rotate and open a path to your left. Head into the cage and then walk into the next room. Inside, you'll find a square Abyss Core floating on the ground.

Grab the core with Axiom Force and bring it back to where the switch is. Use your Axiom Force on the switch a second time to flip the cage and give you access to the room on the right. Bring the Abyss Core you just found and drag it into the newly opened chamber. Inside you will find a slot where you can place an Abyss Core.

Don't worry about the other switches in the adjacent rooms and on the cage. They're just there in case you ever accidentally get stuck in a cage and have no relevance to the puzzle. The only switch you have to worry about is the one under the cage by the Abyss Gate.

Once you've placed the core, grab the two rectangular Abyss cores and carry them outside to the switch. Hit the switch a third time, grab one of the two Abyss Cores and bring it to the chamber on the left. In the left room along the wall where the light is shining, you will find a rectangular slot. This can be easy to miss, so use the photo above for reference.

Once the Abyss Core is in place, go back outside and grab the second rectangular Abyss Core and move it to the top of the cage. Climb up the cage and look for the gap that is between the circular switch on the ground and the altar. Transfer the Abyss Core to the slot and slam it into the slot to fully activate the circular switch.

Approach the circular switch, crouch and do a Force Palm to complete the Tomb of Perdition puzzle. This will make an Abyss Artifact appear at the altar for you to collect. If you want to continue progressing through this island chain, go back to where the switch is and look to the right.

You will see a triangular gate that you can go through. This will activate a platform that you can grab onto with your Axiom Force to open up another path for you to follow.
