The big PlayStation Plus update that arrives in the middle of each month keeps subscribers on their toes, and those looking to get the most out of their subscription should definitely keep an eye on the games that come and go.
While May 19 will be particularly busy, May 2026 is already proving to be a busy month for PS Plus subscribers. Earlier this month, those who signed up to the basic tier of the service were treated to free PS Plus games for May 2026, including EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathersand Nine Sols. Extra and Premium tier subscribers also get access to the free PS Plus games that make up the Essential tier, plus they have their own exclusive games to look forward to on May 19.

The two main headliners when it comes to PS Plus Extra games for May 2026 are Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlaws. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a critically acclaimed open-world western from Rockstar Games that some call the best video game of all time. Star Wars Outlaws is an open-world sci-fi action-adventure game with stealth elements that received somewhat mixed reviews at the time of its release, but has since been more appreciated thanks to meaningful post-launch updates.
