Forza Horizon 6's launch into life has been stunning, and it's not even technically out yet. After launching the game's early access last week has topped the charts, reaching over 1 million players andit instantly beat Forza Horizon 5's highest number of players.
Now that the entire weekend is over, the extent of Forza Horizon 6's success has become evident. It has now reached twice the number of concurrent players of any other racing game on Steam.
Forza Horizon 6's weekend success eclipses every other racer
On its second launch, Forza Horizon 6 hit over 120,000 players on Steam. It far overshadows its predecessor. On the weekend, when players had more free time, the number of players 6 packed.
According to SteamDB, over 180,000 players were logged into Forza Horizon 6 as of Sunday night. The game was already a contender for the record for most concurrent players, but its weekend numbers more than doubled its nearest competitor.
SteamDB's “most played racing games” chart isn't infallible now – it lists GTA 5 as a racer – but it's a good starting point. Filtering out all the non-racers, Forza Horizon 6 more than doubles the top game for second place, F1 2015, which reached 88,000 players.
F1 2015 is followed by Need for Speed Heat, which reached just over 86,000 players at its peak. Forza Horizon 5 is then fourth with a peak of 81,000 players. Check out the top 10 below:

It highlights how good Forza Horizon 6's start to life has been, and its decision to take the series to Japan seems to be a popular one. It's scary to think how high that number will go once the standard edition of the game is released on May 19th.
