- Location: A field of purple sea plants 250 meters north of the Lifepod. Follow a bearing of 345 in a straight line near the surface. The field extends north and northwest far beyond this starting point.
- Depth: 30 meters – The first stilt balls can be found about 25-35 meters below the surface.
- Appearance: Walking Orbs are green spherical orbs that float above underwater rocks, with purple tendrils like tendrils that descend from the orb to the floor. Necrolei cysts are star-shaped objects on top of orbs that can be removed with the Survival Multitool.
- Creation instructions: Use the processor to insert two Necrolei Cysts to create one bottle of Strong Acid. The strong acid recipe should be available once you create the mild acid and build the processor.
- Alternative recipes: Once you discover Gold and Sulfur in Subnautica 2, you can put one of each into a processor to make a strong acid.

The exact direction will be 345 degrees on the compass, exactly west of north. If you keep this direction, you will not need to use any signals or environmental markers. Using the processor to make strong acid:
As already mentioned, you can only create strong acid in the processor. Once you've collected the Necrolei Cysts you want, go back to your CPU and add them to the “Configure CPU” tray.
When the Processor menu appears, you'll see two options at the bottom: Load Processor and Change Recipes.
Once you've selected a recipe and selected the items you want to load into the processor, you can press Load Processor a few times and it will automatically load more materials to create more items.
Select “Change Recipes” and select Strong Acid. Each strong acid has a 30 second cooldown. Once they are done, you can collect them from the output area on the right side of the processor.
