Hello darkness, my old friend…

You have a whopping ten Prestige levels and another 1000 levels if you manage to reach the maximum Prestige level. Needless to say, this is an incredibly long grind that is meant for dedicated players. Let's dive into how Prestige works in Black Ops 6, how it differs from previous titles, and showcase some of the rewards you can expect to earn.

How Prestige works in Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6 Prestige Multiplayer Menu

Prestige in Black Ops 6, referred to in-game as “Classic Prestige”, behaves the same way it did in CoD games before MW2019. When your multiplayer or zombie level reaches Rank 55, you will be able to activate Prestige. This will reset your account rating and increase your Prestige score by one. This will earn you an exclusive emblem next to your name and several unique cosmetic rewards.

In Black Ops 6 you can Prestige up to ten times. Once you press Prestige 10, the Master Prestige will be unlocked.

Unlike Prestige in newer CoD titles, once Prestige you lose access to your unlocked weapons, perks, Scorestreaks and gear; you will have to unlock everything again. There are a few rewards you get from Prestiging that make the process a little less painful, but keep that in mind before you get down to business.

What resets when Prestige?

  • Arms

    • Weapon attachments, cloaks and badges remain unlocked

  • benefits

  • Score

  • Equipment and terrain improvements

This is worth noting weapons retain their gained experience and cosmetics when Prestigeso you don't have to unlock attachments or masks again. The weapon itself will need to be re-unlocked by leveling, but any experience you've gained with the weapon is permanent and carries over between Prestige ranks. GobbleGums obtained in Zombies will also remain usable.

Master Prestige

Once you reach Prestige 10, you will no longer be able to restore your account level. Instead, you activate yourself Master Prestige, a system that allows you to reach level 1000. Reaching this max level grants a unique cosmetic reward that Treyarch hasn't revealed. The Master Prestige effectively functions as the Prestige system from MW2 and MW3. You won't lose access to anything in Master Prestige; it's long-term hard work.

Prestige rewards

Every time you Prestige your account, you get three rewards:

  1. Permanent Unlock: You get an unlock token that can be used to permanently unlock any item. This can be used for weapons, perks and equipment.
  2. Prestige Cosmetics: A new emblem will appear next to your account name and you'll unlock a unique skin or business card.
  3. Prestige Challenges: Each Prestige has a series of challenges for you to complete, awarding business cards, animated loading screens, GobbleGums and XP.

Each Prestige rank increases XP payouts from daily challenges. Make sure to complete them as you battle for Master Prestige 1,000.

The most significant reward is here Permanent Unlock Token. By resetting your rank, you get one token that can be used to unlock any item that is usually locked behind leveling your account – weapons, perks, equipment, etc. This unlock will No reset if you do Prestige again.

In addition to tokens, you also get exclusive ones Prestige cosmetics from this grinding. For example, Prestige 1 awards a Zombie-themed character skin, an account emblem, an animated loading screen, a Gobblegum pack, a weapon charm, and a sticker. These bonus rewards are unlocked either from Prestige Challenges (similar to business card challenges) or simply from leveling up.
