CDPR previously raised the minimum system requirements for its open-world RPG on two occasions: in February 2022 and in September 2023. CDPR is no longer testing Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows 10
The latest change to the dystopian RPG's PC requirements was quietly announced at CDPR Cyberpunk 2077 support page at the end of May 2026. According to the developer's official announcement, Windows 11 is the minimum required operating system version for the game after Microsoft's end of support for Windows 10. Although the announcement uses the original end-of-life date of October 14, 2025, Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) will officially be available until October 13, regardless of whether new testing will be available on the 20th in the future. The newly confirmed change creates an unusual situation, potentially leaving millions of devices that meet minimum and even recommended hardware requirements Cyberpunk 2077 it cannot run because their hardware is incompatible with Windows 11. The scenario is largely based on Microsoft's latest operating system, which has strict requirements for supported processors, requiring the inclusion of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 security microchip and Secure Boot. Many high-end computers manufactured in the late 2010s and early 2020s will not pass this check.
