A new month is creeping up on us, bringing with it loads of new games and hopefully exciting announcements. Compared to its predecessor's selection, June's game lineup leaves something to be desired due to its lack of flagship titles; however, a deeper look at the upcoming releases reveals a schedule that promises to consistently deliver great or new games. Yes, it doesn't have to exist 007 First Light or a Forza Horizon 6but the indie scene and developers from AA seem primed and ready to take on the big problems. June's Cozy Survival game with co-op and base building
With over 70,000 followers on Steam, Solarpunk definitely managed to capitalize on their Kickstarter and set the stage for what should be a pretty massive debut. Although not Cyberwave's first project, Solarpunk represents a substantial leap in scale from the developer's previous efforts, along with a shift from puzzle platforming to first-person survival. It seems like a new open-world survival game is released every other week these days, but this June 2026 release stands out for a few reasons.
Solarpunk is a cozy survival game in a technologically advanced world of floating islands. Alone or together with your friends, you can build buildings, grow food, craft gadgets and explore remote islands with your own airship.
First, a playable demo is available from February 2025, demonstrating confidence in the quality of the project. Secondly, Solarpunk seems like a focused entry into the genre that doesn't try to be everything at once. Crafting and base building are the focus, with the game promising the tools and freedom to create your dream home base. no fight at all Solarpunk it's about building and connecting with other survivors who live on their own floating islands that you can visit by airship. Finally, Solarpunk is launching Day One on Game Pass, making it immediately available to a wide audience.

Gothic 1 remake
The biggest game of June 2026
truth be told Gothic 1 remake should be higher as it is by far the most requested June game coming to Steam. If done well, Alkimia Interactive's project will be among the best RPGs of 2026, especially considering how well the powers of the 2001 original have aged. A polished, cleaner version Gothic with more satisfying combat, it sounds incredible and the demo mimics the vibe of its ancestor. With only a fraction of the game revealed, there is some concern as to whether the remake can fully live up to the legacy and reputation of the classic.
Whether you're a seasoned goth veteran or dropped into a colony for the first time, you're in for a true RPG experience with limitless exploration like no other.
For the uninitiated, Gothic takes place in a mining community that effectively functions as a prison, and the player starts out as a nobody at the bottom of the food chain. A thorough faction system and realistic NPC routines defined the original Piranha Bytes title, two things that the remake absolutely needs to leave out in order to remotely justify its existence. I'm excited, but cautious.

Fox McCloud makes his Switch 2 debut with a familiar adventure
Yes, it is Star Fox one more time… and one more time Nintendo retells the same story. Frustrating as a decision to redo Star Fox 64 it is again, the return of the franchise deserves to be celebrated and the upcoming version should use the standard control scheme more than anything else. Star Fox Zero delivered. The transition to a more realistic look takes some getting used to, and this may be a problem for some people who clearly prefer traditional character design; still, we need to see how everything looks in action to really know if this art direction is going anywhere positive.
Get in the cockpit and fly through the stars and the sky with Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team! As the Lylat system is under attack by the evil scientist Andross, it's up to you and the team to fend off his forces.
Otherwise, Star Fox it just looks, well, more Star Fox. As seen in some of the previous posts, experimentation for the sake of experimentation can result in a game built around a polarizing gimmick that overshadows everything else. Star Fox it doesn't need to be reinvented, but needs to be given love, care and attention from Nintendo. Hopefully this version has it.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
The latest RPG from Square Enix
A new Square Enix game is inherently exciting, and that's doubly so with Claytechworks acting as a co-developer. The last one kept working Brave default 2which ended up being a fantastic turn-based RPG; meanwhile, Square Enix's success rate with HD-2D games is essentially 100%. Unlike Octopath Traveler or Dragon Quest remodels The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is an action RPG rather than a turn-based, refreshing Switch that could hearken back to SNES greats such as The Secret of Mana, Terranigmaand Illusion of Gaia; real time combat should work well with this art style.
An all-new action RPG from the creators of OCTOPATH TRAVELER and BRAVELY DEFAULT – The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales combines stunning HD-2D visuals and exciting action-adventure gameplay for the first time!
Rather than managing a party of heroes, The Adventures of Elliot revolves around the lonely protagonist Elliot and his fairy sidekick Faie. Although the game is primarily positioned as a single-player experience, it supports co-op through a system that allows a friend (or younger sibling) to take control of Faie. While you may not be able to switch between character groups, Elliot can use seven types of weapons and fairy magic, with two of them equipped at the same time.
Although it doesn't feel as special as it did in 2018 when Octopath Traveler HD-2D RPGs are reliable, delivering a mix of solid gameplay, beautiful visuals, and (usually) good stories. Even though I ranked it second The Adventures of Elliot is personally my most anticipated game of June.

Hell Let Loose it made its full debut almost 5 years ago and its numbers on Steam still regularly reach 8K simultaneous players. Simply put, Expression Games have created something special with their realistic 50v50 battle simulator. While the original takes place during World War 2, the next entry transitions to the Vietnam War, a conflict defined by jungle warfare and the clash of two very different types of armies.
Enter the explosive conflict of the Vietnam War and fight your way through some of the most savage clashes in modern history.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam should launch with 6 maps and 17 specialized roles that will allow players to decide whether to join infantry, mortar squad or other units. Battles won't just be decided on land either, as airstrikes and patrol boats also play their part. Assuming it hits the ground, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam could very well establish itself as not only the biggest must-play game in June, but also one of the defining releases of 2026.
