One Piece officially confirms that Devil Fruits are a class stronger than Logias

Devil fruits that exist in the world One piece can be primarily divided into three types which are Paramecia, Zoan and Logia. Of the three, Logia types are known to be the most overpowering as they allow the user to transform into an elemental or force of nature, completely embodying that force. The Logia types were first introduced with Smoker in Chapter 97 One piecewhich was officially published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #34 on July 19, 1999. Since then, the story has come a long way and introduced a lot of stronger Logia.

However, the culmination of the ongoing Elbaf arc, specifically Chapter 1183, which officially dropped on May 24, 2026 in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #26, confirmed that The Logia class is easily surpassed by the world of the Mythical Zoans of the One Piece. In the latest chapters, another Logia fell behind the Mythical Zoan in terms of elemental manipulation abilities, as it was officially confirmed that Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, has greater abilities than Hie Hie no Mi.

One Piece Chapter 1183 Shows Risa Risa no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr is better than Kuzan's Hie Hie no Mi Logia

One piece Chapter 1183 focused a lot on the character of Gunko, aka Princess Shuri, with her flashback from the Kingdom of Esperia being explored. In this chapter, Eiichiro Oda also confirmed to all fans that Gunko was still trapped in ice by Ragnir, who has the power of Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, the legendary mythical Zoan Devil Fruit from the Void Century era. This devil fruit is incredibly powerful and grants the user the ability to transform into an ice squirrel and use ice manipulation abilities.

In the world of One Piece, there is already a powerful ice ability that falls under the Logia class called Hie Hie no Mi. This devil fruit allows the user to transform into ice as well as create and manipulate it at will. The Hie Hie no Mi that Kuzan ate allows him to instantly freeze people to the bone in seconds and even pull out things like freezing part of the ocean at will. Kuzan's Devil Fruit is certainly one of the most overpowered we've seen in One Piece, but when it comes to ice manipulation, it doesn't stand a chance against the power of Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr. One Piece Chapter 1183 officially confirms that even Nero Imu's ultimate power attack, Akuma no Mi, is not enough to melt the ice from Ragnir.

Ragnir's ice attacks far surpass Kuzan's in power

Previously, Loki claimed in One piece Chapter 1179, which officially ended on April 6, 2026, that the ice of Ragnir can only be melted by Ragnir himself. Shortly after, Imu unleashed a powerful omen-based attack on Gunko, charged with Conqueror's Haki, in an attempt to free her from Ragnir's ice. One Piece Chapter 1183 confirmed that Imu, currently the strongest character in the entire world, was unable to free her from this ice.

On the other hand, Aokiji's ice can be easily melted. When Aokiji froze Nico Robin and Luffy in the Long Ring Long Land, they were both easily unfrozen with warm water. Even Mera Mera no Mi's fire stands as a perfect counterpoint to Aokiji's ice, as does magma. On the other hand, the same cannot be said for Ragnir's ice, which is unmeltable and can only be melted by Ragnir himself, thus demonstrating the outright superiority of the frost powers.

Kaido's Drum Dragon surpasses the power of Magu Magu no Mi

Another interesting example of the Mythical Zoan's abilities surpassing those of the Logie comes from Kaido's ultimate transformation called the Flaming Drum Dragon. This form of him comes from Kaid's Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which is a mythical Zoan fruit that allows him to transform into an Eastern Dragon. In this devil fruit's ultimate transformation, Kaido becomes a giant flame and magma dragon that can vaporize an entire island with just a fly by.

This devil fruit power is very similar to Akainu's Magu Magu no Mi, granting him the power to transform into magma as well as control and produce it at will. While Akainu's magma burns hot, it is easily stopped, as seen when Jinbe grabbed his fist for an extended period of time in Marineford and Marco blocked his attack, completely nullifying it in the process, in chapter 575, released on February 22, 2010. With Kaido's Island Vaporizing abilities, he stands on a much higher level than Akainu, and also offers other benefits such as increased durability as well as the ability to manipulate wind along with lightning and fire.
