After 17 years, One Piece reveals the 3 most powerful mythical Zoan Fruits

The mythical Zoan Devil Fruits were first introduced in One piece Chapter 553 in the Paramount War of arc One piece on August 19, 2009. The first of the line to be introduced was the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix, owned by the Whitebeard Pirates First Division Commander Marco. 17 years have passed since then, and finally One Piece introduced a galaxy of incredibly overmatched Mythical Zoans.

In the climax of the Elbaf arc, specifically chapters 1179 and 1182, Eiichiro Oda lined up two of the most powerful mythic zoans. Coupled with Luffy's Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, which was revealed at Wano on March 28, 2022, One Piece now has its own trio of overpowered Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits reigning supreme.

One-volume chapters 1179 and 1182 introduced Akuma no Mi and Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza — Two powerful Mythic Zoans in Elbaf

The Mythical Zoan devil fruit class has been on the receiving end of a lot of attention from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda, and that's something we're all happy to see. Mythical Zoans offers a lot of creativity to Odo and it is clear that the author loves experimenting with different mythical creatures from different mythologies of the world and incorporating them into One Piece. In One Piece Chapter 1179, which officially dropped, and in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #19 on April 6, 2026, Eiichiro Oda officially introduced one of the most overpowered Devil Fruits to ever exist in One Piece – Akuma no Mi. This devil fruit controls Nero Ima and allows him to transform into the devil of the world himself. Since this ability doesn't fit into either the Logia or Paramecia class and allows you to transform into a mythical entity, it most certainly fits the Mythical Zoan class from Devil Fruits.

Akuma no Mi is incredibly powerful as it allows Nero Ima to transform into a devil. It also allows him to use a unique power called God's Dominion, which grants various abilities through contracts. Using the power of God's Dominion, Imu can turn anyone into a demon slave with enhanced abilities using techniques like Domi Reversi. Imu also showed us the ability to make various covenants with his subordinates and grant them powers through Covenants such as infinite regeneration, immortality, and also superhuman strength.

Imu's Akuma no Mi primarily allows him to use the power of Omena or Maki. As Imu describes it, the Omen is his military power and the most deadly ability that exists in the world. It appears as black flames and can be shaped into various weapons such as bullets, bombs and even swords. These black flames are incredibly powerful and can devastate almost anyone with a few blows, as was clearly seen in One Piece Chapter 1180, which was officially released on April 20, 2026 in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #21.

One Piece Chapter 1182 also revealed another Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, and it was none other than Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza. This is very similar to the power that Luffy has, only in this case it is not Nika's godly entity, but Zaza's. Zaza is a rain god who is summoned by prayers for rain, as confirmed by Saint Killingham in One Piece Chapter 1182, which was officially published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24 on May 10, 2026.

The Zaza Devil Fruit allows the user to transform into a divine entity that can bring down tremendous rain showers and cause great floods. In a way, it allows the user to manipulate water and also provides him with a body made of rainwater. This means that this Devil Fruit power can basically nullify everyone else's Devil Fruit abilities that exist in the One Piece world, making it a top level ability in itself. This also makes it one of the strongest mythic zoans in the entire series.

One Piece Chapter 1044 introduced Luffy's Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika

With the reveal of Nerona Imu's Akuma no Mi and Hito model Hito no Mi: Zaza in chapters 1179 and 1182, One Piece has two incredibly powerful mythic zoans lined up in the Elbaf arc. Putting this together with Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika Monkey D. Luffy, which was officially revealed in One Piece Chapter 1044 on March 28, 2022, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump #17, the trio of the strongest Mythical Zoans is officially formed.

Luffy's Hito no Mi: Nika model allows him to transform into the Sun God Nika, fighting with immense freedom as he pleases. He brings laughter and joy wherever he goes, and also frees slaves from their chains, making him a warrior of liberation. He can bring anything he imagines into reality and is bound only by his own imagination in battle, making him a fearsome warrior. Next to the devil One piece the world that is Nerona Imu, like the rain god, is easily one of the most overpowered mythical zoan fruits ever to exist.

Eiichiro Oda founds two other legendary mythic zoans after Elbaf

The Elbaf Arc of One Piece already introduced us to quite a few powerful Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits. In addition to Nerona Imu's Akuma no Mi and Zaza Fruit's rain god, there's also Loki's Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, which is an ability with world-destroying abilities and a godlike power in its own right, given that it was previously ruled by the war god Elbaf. At the same time, there is also Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, which grants the legendary squirrel's power strong enough to permanently freeze anything it desires. These two abilities certainly add a lot to the already expanding Mythical Zoan One Piece class, but more abilities will be added in the coming months.

With One Piece Chapter 1182 confirming the existence of the rain god Zaza, we now know for sure that all the other gods mentioned in chapter 287, such as the Forest God and the Earth God, are also somewhere in the One Piece world. After Elbaf, two more gods are set to be revealed in line with One Piece Chapter 1182 and 287, and this is sure to be exciting for all of us fans.
