Once you are hidden and the round has started, you can use Free camera settings to explore the map and watch what is happening with the hunters. When you press the button 5 key, you can choose a target and follow the hunter, or you can push 4 Key to completely free movement. This can also be useful for finding other players' hideouts in case you become a hunter in infection mode.

Choose the game mode that suits your group

Explanation of infection modes, dual mode and basic mode

The host can choose from three different game modes. What works for you may depend on whether you plan to play in a private or public lobby, since there are already so many players:

Game mode

Description

Infection

All but one or two people hide to begin. When they find you, you also become a hunter.

Double

Everyone hides at the beginning. When it's time to start hunting, everyone is hunting. Whoever finds the most people or finds them all first wins.

Basic

The group is divided into two teams, hunters and hiders. You have to see if the hunters can find the cache before the time runs out.

Turn on Forced Taunt

Whistles help hunters

There is a setting called A forced sneer this automatically makes everyone hit 1 key make a whistling sound, thus “taunting” hunters to reveal the area in which they are hiding. This makes it a little easier for hunters in large groups where they have many people to find. You can choose at what interval the taunt occurs and how long the hunting phase lasts, so you can play with the times that work for your party.

Choose an exposed spot

Hiding in plain sight gives more points

If you choose a location that is likely to be seen, you will get more points for being in sight of the Hunters. If you use this strategy, you'll need to make sure you're very well camouflaged. Place your character on a walking path instead of hiding in a corner or under something to see your points soar.

Usually the places that are higher on the wall are less observed, but still visible. You can still paint after the hunters come out, so don't worry about finishing it before they start if you can make the base.

If you think or know you have been seen, RUN! Maybe you could run away and get more points for being in their sights.

Use the dropper function

Blend with the environment with color

When you paint, there is an option to hold space and move your mouse over the area you are in and pick a color from your environment. This makes mixing much easier and helps you save time on your painting project. Now you can perfectly match the colors of the area.

Selecting an area with more colors makes it easier to shade the 3D body into the area and looks less obvious.

If you get bored, use the filters for a new experience

There are three filters you can turn on that will change the look of your game. These settings are in the middle column when you press the blue button Map configuration. The three settings are:

Filter

Effect

Monochromatic

Turns the whole game black and white.

Terror

Adds extra highlights and shadows to all colors.

Mosaic

It pixels the view so things start to blur.

You don't have to choose just one; you can combine them or have them all active if you want.
