How to Solve Card Puzzles (Chapter 1)

These interesting challenges, which usually involve a combination of spades, diamonds and a mysterious swap feature, can be an amazing puzzler or a frustrating obstacle. If you're stuck and need help solving them, this guide will walk you through all the card puzzles in Chapter 1 Deltarune.

Although the card puzzles are some of the first puzzles in the game, they remain surprisingly easy to get stuck on, especially if you're trying to collect every treasure and secret item. Chapter 1 Solving card puzzles at a glance

The third card puzzle is also worth solving, although it is optional. Completing it will reduce the spikes blocking the treasure chest, which contains the Dice Brace, an accessory that gives the player a useful defense boost.

Deltarune Chapter 1 Card Puzzle #1

The first card puzzle you'll encounter in Chapter 1 is v A field of hopes and dreams flat. You can find this puzzle north of the “chess field” (the area with many Rudinns and Hathys), shortly before you reach the Card Castle entrance. Here you will see a multi-slot card input device.

The game implies that the solution is “the order of our rooms in the Card Castle”. If you pay attention to the environments and suits represented in Card Castle, you will find that the order is:

• Diamond (1st floor)
• Heart (2nd floor)
• Club (Floor 3)
• Spade (Floor 4 / Royal Floor)

The target pattern you need to create is: Diamond, Heart, Club, Spade. To enter it, here is the sequence of buttons you need to press:

• Press Diamond

• Press Replace.

• Press Diamond.

• Press Spade.

• Press Replace again. This puts the first three cards in the correct order (Diamond, Heart, Club).

• Press Spade.

Once you enter this complete sequence, the puzzle will be solved and the path to the treasure chest will be contained Broken key C will open. You can then use it to unlock the secret boss, Jevil Deltarune.

After filling in the field, you enter the Scarlet forest. Here you will find many more puzzles. The first is a simple password puzzle, and since everyone has forgotten the password, the answer is written at the top. Just enter it correctly.

Here is the trick to understand how to use Replace button. When you press the “Swap” button, all the cards will change: Spades will change to Clubs and vice versa, while Diamonds will change to Hearts and vice versa.

Now to solve the puzzle you have to enter “Club Heart Club”. To do so, follow these steps:

• Press the button Spade button.

• Press the button Diamond button.

• Press the button Spade button. “Spade, Diamond, Spade” will appear on the display.

• Now press the button Replace button. Now your display will change to “Club, Heart, Club”, match the target pattern and solve the puzzle.

Deltarune Chapter 1 Card Puzzle #3

After completing the second card puzzle and continuing through the forest, you will eventually reach the sa room the only Bloxer enemy patrolling. Here you will find the third puzzle. Although this puzzle is completely optional, solving it will reward you Cube orthosis an accessory that increases defense.

Based on the clues found in the surroundings, there is a pattern that you need to create Spade, diamond, club. Procedure:

• Press the button Spade icon

• Press the button Diamond button.

• Press the button Replace button.

• Now press the button Spade icon again. Your display will now be Club, Heart, Spade.

• Then press the button Replace button again. Now your display will be Spade, Diamond, Club.

If you got the sequence right, the spikes blocking your path will lower, giving you access to a small room with a treasure chest containing cubes.

Deltarune Chapter 1 Card Puzzle #4

After solving this, move to the next room and find the last password puzzle in the area. Unfortunately, the card puzzle has been destroyed, which means that the solution is not given directly. You will have to collect clues by talking to them three different clover heads and deduce the answers by looking at the blurred colors.

To confirm the colors, simply stand in front of the password entry device and look at the three panels to the left of the spikes. You will see a visual clue: the password will be a red iconfollowed by a black iconand finally another red icon.

The combination of the head lines and the color sequence is the complete password: Heart, spade, diamond. Follow these steps to solve the puzzle:

• Press Diamond.

• Strike Replace button. This will change the diamond you just placed to a red heart.

• Press Spade.

• Press Diamond.

Once you get this sequence right, the spikes blocking your path will be reduced and you can continue.

After you leave the forest and head towards the castle of cards, you'll find several more puzzles, both on the way to the castle and inside it.
