After 4 years, One Piece introduces 3 new legendary Devil Fruits

With the story of One piece Eiichiro Oda presents one legendary Devil Fruit after another in Final Saga. Several of them were introduced in the Elbafsky Arch alone. 4 years ago in One Piece, the first true legendary Devil Fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, was officially revealed in Chapter 1044 of the Wano Country Arc.

Now, in Elbaf, specifically in its current climax, Eiichiro Oda has revealed 3 new legendary Devil Fruits and prepared more legendary fruits to be revealed later, which we absolutely cannot wait for. These fruits are Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, and Akuma no Mi.

One Piece's the first proper reveal of the Legendary Devil Fruit came in Chapter 1044, which was officially released in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #17 on March 28, 2022. In this chapter, the Five Elders officially stated that the name of Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, was changed to Gomu Gomu no Mi to prevent it from being fully utilized. In reality, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is a legendary Devil Fruit that upon awakening grants a person the power of the Sun God Nika and transforms them into a liberation fighter.

“Having a body with the powers of rubber and fighting in any way he likes, bringing smiles to people's faces, Liberation Warrior…also known as the Sun God, Nika!” — The Gorosei explain Nika's power, One Piece Chapter 1044

Luffy has since greatly enhanced his power and his Awakening, which he calls Gear 5 and the pinnacle of his powers, has allowed him to overpower even the likes of Kaido in battle. In Egghead, Luffy was able to fly past Robbo Lucci and even overpower Admiral Kizaru relatively effortlessly. Quite clearly Eiichiro Oda used Luffy as an example to show how powerful the legendary Devil Fruits are.

Now, in the arc of Elbaf, the creator One piece officially introduced 3 more legendary Devil Fruits, the first of which was Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, officially introduced in One Piece chapter 1175 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump #14 on March 2, 2026. Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr was finally protected 14 years ago in Loki Elba. Nidhoggr is officially referred to as legendary and grants power to a giant black dragon known to be the largest in the world. This giant black dragon can also manipulate lightning on a scale that can destroy an entire world, making it a phenomenal force of nature that is hard to match in battle. The Nidhoggr Devil Fruit was previously wielded by the Warrior God of Elbaf, making it not only a legendary Devil Fruit, but also a Devil Fruit.

“In Elbaph we have the legend of a warrior god. He wielded a weapon known as Ragnir, the Iron Bolt, and transformed himself into a huge dragon to oppose the Sun God! He fought alongside a trusted, loyal ice squirrel known as Ratatoskr.” — Elder Jarul explains the power of Nidhoggra, One Piece Chapter 1175

After Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, Eiichiro Oda also revealed the power of Akuma no Mi or The Devil's Fruit, which belongs to Nero Ima. The Devil's Fruit debuted in One Piece Chapter 1179, published on April 5, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump #19. This Devil Fruit is considered to be the most powerful in the One Piece world as it grants Im the ability to become a Devil God himself and wield two main powers:

  1. A god's dominion that allows him to make or force contracts on humans or turn them into his slave soldiers with powers like Domi Reversi.

  2. Omen or Maki, which is a black flame that gives Ima tremendous offensive and defensive abilities in battle.

Finally, there is Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, which is also officially classified as a legendary Devil Fruit, as confirmed in One Piece Chapter #1182, published on May 10, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24. This devil fruit is wielded by none other than Ragnir, the hammer of the former war god Elbafu, said to have been killed long ago by Nero Ima. After the warrior god's death, the soul of the ice squirrel Ratatoskr resided in his Hammer, Ragnir, and guarded the Devil Fruit ever since until Loki finally ate it. Now, Ragnir fights alongside Loki, further enhancing his already formidable lightning powers, as was clearly seen in the epic clash between him and Nero Ima.

Imu: Ragnir!! You are as I remember you, all this time waiting for a new master. How nostalgic!!

After 4 years, One Piece finally Line Up A New Haki for Luffy

Luffy is on his way to getting a new Haki upgrade that could put him in the same league as Shanks in One Piece's Final Saga.

Why the Elbaf final is a battle of the gods wielding the legendary devil fruit

clash of the gods one piece elbaf

Elbaf's peak is evidently a battle of gods wielding all kinds of legendary and divine powers. At this moment, Loki, who wields the power of the war god of Elbaf, is facing the evil god Nero Imu, and with him is the legendary squirrel Ratatoskr. Ratatoskr also has tremendous abilities and is strong enough to rival Yonko on his own.

Then there's Monkey D. Luffy, who is currently consuming an inordinate amount of food as he aims to stock up on enough energy before entering the battle against Imo. These four god-level characters culminate in the Elbaf arc, making it one of the most incredible battles in the entire story, and we absolutely cannot wait to see how it ends.

“I need to eat more! I've never felt anything like this before! It's so hard and rough! What's with this guy's Haki?” — Monkey D. Luffy eats food to fight Imu, One Piece Chapter #1181

At the same time, it must be said that Eiichiro Oda is also preparing more legendary Devil Fruits to be revealed after the Elbaf arc is concluded, the first of which is Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza. This Devil Fruit was officially established in One Piece Chapter #1182 on May 10, 2026 by none other than Saint Killingham. Killingham confirmed that along with the Sun God Nika, the Sky Dragons also fear the Rain God Zaza due to his ability to manipulate rain and send water onto his head. All the sky dragons fear the people of D., the sun god Nik and finally the rain god Zaz. This means that, like Nika, this Devil Fruit is either in the possession of someone in the One Piece world, or is waiting for someone else to eat it.

“We were born in a place so high up, it's above all the rain clouds. Water pouring down from the sky? It's a mysterious terror! After the people of D and Nik, it was the most common scarecrow they warned us about…that in the lower world there is a monster called the Rain God that pours water on your head!” — Saint Killingham explains the rain god Zaza, Chapter #1182

In addition to Zaza, a Forest God and an Earth God also exist in the One Piece world, although it is unclear who possesses these powers at this time. These other legendary Devil Fruits will be revealed by the author as time goes on, and we can't wait to see which characters have these abilities at their disposal and what role they will play later in the story.
