Best upcoming RPG released in July 2026

RPG fans have already seen so many great games in 2026, from Crimson desert on Esoteric ebbeach of which offers a completely different way to immerse yourself and be transported into a fictional world. But we're only halfway through, and there are plenty of other RPGs waiting to be released in July that could potentially blow everything else out of the water.

Given how broad the genre is, there always seems to be a constant stream of new ideas coming out every month, and these games aim to show that the creative flow is far from over for 2026. Extractive RPGs, action packed adventures and stunning new concepts are all set to grace our screens over the next few weeks.

Echoes of Aincrad

Soulslike Combat meets JRPG progression

Echoes of Aincrad is a next-generation JRPG that aims to bring flair and intensity to an otherwise rather overcrowded genre.

Starting out as a blank canvas, you can customize your hero however you choose, and from there the world becomes an ever-growing battlefield for you to test your skills and become a truly unstoppable force.

A big emphasis of the game is build variety, as it doesn't matter if you want to go full speed, intelligence, or stamina; each option is viable from start to finish. The level of polish and interesting world building make it particularly interesting for me and I'm really looking forward to spending dozens of hours in the next SAO space game.

Mistfall Hunter

Mistfall Hunter is one of the most talked about names in the extraction space, and for good reason. Instead of running around with a set of weapons and potions, you enter the world with a fantastic lineup from one of six classes, each offering a completely different playstyle as you run.

You can be a magical mage or an aggressive assassin, or you can characterize your character in a way that crosses the line between classes, with so many options that fundamentally change how you start and gain from the world. I've been pretty burned out from other extraction games, but this is definitely day one for me.

Dinoblade

Tech-Demo that became reality

If you told me that these early videos Dinoblade that a full-length game would eventually be born, I'd laugh in your face, but here we are, finally with a reptilian adventure unlike any other. Faced with imminent extinction, you must battle your way across an ancient world as a young spinosaurus, battling other dinosaurs and unleashing combos that look straight out of a blockbuster movie.

It's obviously absurd conceptually, yet the game looks surprisingly fresh, giving you a lot of control over every swing and ensuring that skill trumps all. If you're a soul fan, you owe it to yourself to give it a try, and if not, when was the last time you got to play as a dinosaur with a big sword?

Dungeons And Lots Of Loot

Skills & Raids it has so many different elements working in tandem that it's actually hard to describe in one sentence. At its core, it's a dungeon crawler that puts you in increasingly dangerous situations, but instead of using cards or pure attacks, you instead have to manage cooldowns and strategically fight your way through each fight to see the light of day again.

The best part comes from the connection between combat and your progress. After each grueling battle, you'll reach us with this loot to power up your party in various ways, and from there harder quests become available and more terrifying enemies become manageable, with the constant loop of loot into combat looking very addictive and satisfying for a dungeon lover like myself.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Infinite Ragnarok

Endless Ragnarok brings even more content Reconnect saga that adds so much extra content in a single package that it seems too good to be true. From a story perspective, you'll fight to prevent the end of time, enter mysterious gates, and face more terrifying enemies than ever before in the Realm of Chaos.

In addition to the narrative content, we get access to several new modes and abilities that should shake up the base game and the DLC. Challenging solo mode, controllable summons, and additional bosses that will test the best players, all things that I and many others can't wait to get our hands on.
