One thing Disney's Lorcan continues with each new set of promotional cards. These limited-time cards are often tied to in-store events or even a visit to a Disney park somewhere around the world. This can add to their value if you happen to get your hands on them, but they're also great collectibles if you want to complete a true master set of cards for a particular set.
There are at least 14 new promo cards that we know of so far for Attack of the Vine, with the potential for more to appear during the set's launch window. So if you want to know which promo cards you need to find, we have a complete breakdown in one handy place.
Six unique pre-release promotions are available for Attack of the Vine. You only get one in each pre-sale box and it's completely random, so collecting all six is best done by buying singles. Assuming you wait a few weeks after launch, you can sometimes buy promotional cards for less than $10.
The six promo cards for Attack of the Vine are:
- Buzz Lightyear, Providing cover
- Merlin, Vision of the Future
- Boo, the energetic child
- Maximus, the Indefatigable Stallion
- Vixey, the Fisher expert
- Pocahontas, Head of the Tribe
There is a chance that certain cards will retain value or even increase over time, but this is entirely dependent on whether the card will be heavy once the set is launched. Right now, Wilds Unknown pre-sale promo cards range from $6 to $35 in value, with Ariel, Curious Traveler being the most expensive of the lot.
Disney Lorcan: The biggest chase cards in Attack Of The Vine
From enchanted sets to popular chases, these are some of the cards everyone will want in Disney's new Lorcan Attack of the Vine set.
Next is the Magical Places promotion, a card that can only be obtained by attending a pre-release event at select Disney locations. This usually applies to Disney parks and these cards are often given out to those waiting in line to pick up their boxes before they are released at a Disney park.
All promo cards are just variations of the actual cards from Attack of the Vine and are therefore legal to play with.
The Magical Places promo for Attack of the Vine is Maleficent, the Jubilant Spellcaster. Maleficent is a single ink card that comes into play with two powers and two willpowers and can quest for one lore point. Unfortunately, that's all Maleficent has, as she has no other powers.
A relatively easy promotion for each season is the seasonal promo. For Attack of the Vine, it's Sulley, The New Boss.
To get this card, just participate in the event in the official Ravensburger Play store.
Sulley is a five-color card that comes into play with four powers and four willpower. He also has the Bodyguard ability, which means he can come into play with a power draw, and an opponent who challenges one of your characters must choose one with a Bodyguard if possible. He also has Rehire, an ability that allows you to return a character card from your discard to your hand when a character is played.
You can find four Organized Game (OP) promotional cards during Attack of the Vine. The first is a buy-a-box promotion, Tigger, Hunny Barbarian, which can be obtained with the purchase of the entire booster box. Tiger is a nicely stacked card that costs four ink to put into play and enters with five power and four will. He also has Reckless, which means he can't search and must challenge every turn if possible. Finally, Tiger has a protection charge, which means that once during your turn, whenever he summons another character, you can equip any Hunny character, even though, as is standard, he can't quest for the rest of the turn.
Preparing a character from a stressed state allows you to face them again.
The remaining three OP promo cards are Weekly Play promos, again earned by participating in game events at official Ravensburger Play stores while the card is active. The Weekly Play promos are:
- Morph, a small impersonator
- Randall Boggs, Scary Smart
- Meilin Lee, lead singer
The Set Championship promo cards will return, and the base card can only be earned by participating and participating in the Attack of the Vine Set Championship. If you qualify in the top eight at the event, you will receive a foil version of the card.
The Mike and Sulley play mat can also be obtained through Set Championships.
Rapunzel, Escaping the Tower is a Set Championship promo for Attack of the Vine. This card costs only one ink to cast and comes into play with two powers and one willpower. Each turn you can discard a card to add an extra lore point to Rapunzel and give her Evasive until the end of the turn. This ability prevents it from being challenged by characters without the dodge ability.
