Sector Z is relatively short Star Fox remade on Nintendo Switch 2, but it can be difficult to get enough hits to get a medal. Splitting your time between shooting enemies and shielding the Great Fox from projectiles takes some practice to get right. This guide will explain the best way to get enough hits for the medal in Sector Z, with or without Kat's help.

How to get a medal in Sector X in Star Fox (Switch 2)
To get the Sector X medal in Star Fox on Switch 2, you'll need to hone your shooting and flying skills.
How to get a medal in Sector Z in Star Fox
You need 100 hits to get a medal in Sector Z. Destroying the Copperhead missiles will give you 10 points each, for a total of 60 points. This means you only need to get 40 hits from other sources.
You must get the last hit with the Copperhead missile to get points. This is one of the reasons why you may not have enough hits at the end.
If you fail to destroy the missile, it will damage the Great Fox and end the mission.
You must also keep all teammates alive and not allow any Copperhead missiles to hit the Great Fox.
There are two slightly different versions of the Z sector, depending on how you get to it:
-
Just Your Team (Sector X Warp Route)
-
Kat joins at the end (Zones Route)
If you took the alternate warp gate route from Sector X, you won't get any extra help during the mission in Sector Z. This makes the ending difficult when three missiles are deployed at once. However, this also means that there is one less person to accidentally hit the last bullet hit and set up your chance at a medal.
The usual way is to complete Zones. You will also have to save Kat from enemy fighters during the Zones mission to appear in sector Z; otherwise it works the same as the sector X warp route.
The executioner will join once the last three missiles are deployed and help shoot them down.
Sector Z Star Fox Medal Tips
Destroying the Copperhead missiles is essential to get the required medal score but also to keep your team alive:
Track enemy fighters during missile attacks
Your unit is notorious for being attacked while missiles are aimed at the Great Fox. You only have a limited amount of time to destroy the rockets, but if you ignore them, your teammates can be shot down.
When the missiles go off, get back near the Great Fox and your team. More enemy fighters will appear and one or more of your teammates will become a target. Take care of the enemies chasing your team before trying to destroy the rocket. If you don't have hyper lasers, you will need more time to destroy the missile.
You may have to switch to a missile if he gets too close before you completely save your team.
Destroy the save crates
There are lots of blue survival crates scattered around the level. Destroying crates gives +2 hitsso it helps build your point score. The beginning of a level is the best time to go after them because you don't have to deal with rockets and you only need to save teammates occasionally.
Get enough hits in sector Z v Star Fox the remake is tight but with these tips you can easily do it. Just remember to always get the last hit in on the Copperhead missiles.
