Netflix just announced at Anime Expo 2026 that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will return in the fall, later this year. If you haven't seen the show yet, here's your warning big bold text: click away. Spoilers ahead.
At the end of the first season, almost everyone – including David – got even, which means that Edgerunners 2 features an entirely new crew. Netflix and CD Projekt Red have spent the last four days polishing individual character trailers, and the latest post (embedded below) serves as our first official look at the entire team:
All crew assembled
In the back, towering over the gang is the frail 'King' Kingsley, a veteran Edgerunner who “now lives in the shadow of his former glory”. To the left of the crate sits D, the Snack Nation Netrunner, hunting the killer who wiped out his clan. The pink-haired woman on the right is Talia Yang; she comes from the corpus towers, “but her heart belongs to chrome and violence.” And finally, right up front – with the camera – is Roman Carax, “a young cinephile looking for real stories in a city that abandoned cinema for braindance.”
Kai Ikarashi, who worked in the art department on the first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners — and whose previous credits include Mob Psycho 100, Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 three times, and Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade — is taking over as director from Hiroyuki Imaishi, while TRIGGER Studios will continue to produce the show.
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new self-contained 10-episode story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 – a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge,” reads the description. “In a city that thrives in the light of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by the spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?”
