PS5 has 5 big upcoming games in July 2026

PlayStation 5 players have at least five new games to look forward to in July 2026. Sony's PS5 has been enjoying a lot of hype since its original launch in 2020. Almost every major third-party cross-platform game has made its way to the PS5 in the years since the console's debut, and Sony has released its fair share, including exclusive games as a major first installment. Spider-Man 2, Ghost of Yoteiand Game of the Year winner Astro Bot.

With PS5 consoles more expensive than ever, it's especially important that Sony continues to support the consoles for big new games. The summer months are historically the slowest when it comes to new game releases, and that holds true for 2026 as well, but that doesn't mean there won't be some notable new PS5 games coming out in the very near future.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag re-synced coming out on PS5 on July 9th with EA Sports College Football 27 fall the same day. the day after PalworldVersion 1.0 hits PS5 while Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is on board July 23. Finally, the month ends with something we never thought we'd see: Halo release of the game for PS5. Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released for PS5 on July 28, marking the first time Microsoft's flagship has been playable on a competitor's console.

For those who don't know the games, Assassin's Creed Black Flag re-synced is a remake Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flagwidely regarded as one of the best games in Ubisoft's stealth-action franchise. Black flag re-synced has various tweaks and upgrades that it brings to the table that should help make it a worthwhile return for nostalgic fans and newcomers alike. EA Sports College Football 27meanwhile, it marks the third iteration in EA's revived college football franchise. The previous two games have earned high reviews from critics and it will be interesting to see if EA Sports College Football 27 is capable of maintaining a hot streak.

Doom: The Dark AgesRevelations DLC releases for PS5 on July 7th.

Palworld is already available on PS5 in early access, but the 1.0 release will come with a massive update for the open-world co-op survival game that should hopefully bring some lapsed players back into the game. If Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game goes, it's a new 2D fighting game with characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise.
