Another wave Xbox Game Pass departures are just around the corner, with eight titles set to leave the service on June 30. He is among them Payday 2StarBreeze Entertainment's co-op heist game that has been part of Xbox Game Pass for over nine years.
Microsoft's subscription service launched on June 1, 2017. The Xbox Game Pass catalog contained over 100 titles at launch, including Payday 2: Crimewave Edition. The co-op shooter not only stayed in service over the next nine years, but even expanded its reach as Microsoft continued to divide its catalog into multiple subscription tiers. For example, Payday 2 it has been included in Xbox Game Pass Core, now known as Xbox Game Pass Essential, since the entry-level membership launched in September 2023.

Payday 2, Slay the Spire, Tomb Raider and more will be leaving Xbox Game Pass soon
A month after the ninth anniversary of the service, Payday 2 is scheduled to depart tomorrow, June 30. Seven more titles are part of the next wave of moves from the library: Mecha Break, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Kill the tower, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Volcano Princessand Unpacking. No one has been on duty that long Payday 2with Kill the tower marking the second-longest stint of the lot, having originally entered Microsoft's content library in August 2019. At the other end of the spectrum, there are two Xbox Game Pass additions from July 2025 in the form of Ultimate Chicken Horse and Mecha Breakboth are about to leave just before their first anniversary.

Payday 2 is only the fourth title ever to leave the XGP Core/Essential library, following Forza Horizon 4which was removed from all levels, and two standard removals: Goat simulator and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. The cooperative heist catalog survived its controversial successor by orders of magnitude, as Payday 3 already left the Xbox Game in September 2024, just a year after launch.

The “Added” column only reflects brand new games and ignores situations such as adding existing titles to the XGP Premium tier.
The June 30 Xbox Game Pass departures bring the total number of removals for the month to 13. The service is still on track to finish June with a net gain of four titles, after adding 16 games, with one more to follow on June 30. RV still there?a so-called “friendslop” game that was originally scheduled for May 2026 but was delayed at the last minute for polishing reasons.
The next change to the catalog will take place on July 2, when Xbox Game Pass Premium subscribers are supposed to receive it Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 after a year of waiting. The full Wave 1 lineup for July 2026 may not be announced until July 6, when Winds of Arcana: Ruination is already confirmed to join Microsoft's ever-changing content library.
