Diablo 4 Season 14 finally makes its worst mythic unique viable

Diablo 4 Season 14 changes the way Mythics work, making one of the worst Mythic uniques historically a viable option. With release Diablo 4 Season 14 and Update 3.1.0, Mythics are no longer a rarity but a quality item and each unique in Diablo 4 has a chance to be mythic. While this change is fairly dramatic for a game whose builds relied on a set of extra powerful items to succeed, it leaves room for the less commonly used Mythics.

The Season of Death Awakening isn't just a remake Diablo 4's Mythics, but also by adding various seasonal features for players to try out. Included in these seasonal mechanics are the return of Realmwalkers, which grant access to Deathtoll Chambers upon defeat, and a new family of monsters, the Risen, which includes a new seasonal Lair Boss. Diablo 4 Players who haven't yet purchased the Lord of Hatred expansion can even get access to a free trial of the Warlock class up to level 25 to start Season 14.

Diablo 4's worst class is finally viable in Season 14

Diablo 4 Season 14 finally revives the worst class of recent times.

Nesek, the Herald is finally a viable spirit born myth in Diablo 4 Season 14

Infamously one of the worst myths in Diablo 4 was the Spiritborn's glaive Nesek, the Herald. Before Season 14's Mythic 3.0 update, Nesek, the Herald was relatively weak compared to some of the non-Mythic unique weapons the Spiritborn had access to. While the +200 to all stats and +1200 to max health buffs could be somewhat useful, his unique buff never really overshadowed any of the alternate options Spiritborns could use in his stead.

+400% damage to elites

+200 to all stats
+1200 Maximum life
+250.0% Critical Strike Damage
+450.0% Overpowered Damage
Randomly marks a nearby enemy every 2 seconds. Marked enemies are vulnerable and your attacks against them are guaranteed to critical and overpower. If you hit a tagged enemy 10 times, you will remove the tag from them.
In the days when Ajaw Y'ishich ruled Nahant, the crown of the Phoenix Constellation fell in blazing glory. From it was forged a blade that withered valor and heralded an age of despair.

IN Diablo 4 Season 14, Mythic is no longer a rarity and is now a quality that can be applied to all Uniques. New mythic uniques can drop from bosses and chests like before, but any unique can also be upgraded to mythic using the Horadric Cube. This requires Pandemonium Fragments to be found through the Seasonal Reputation Board, Glowing Caches, and the Seasonal Lair Boss. Mythic Uniques now provide a 30% boost to their unique power, making them particularly powerful for Season 14 builds.

An important part of creating Mythic Uniques in the Horadric Cube is the added ability to re-roll some of the suffixes that these Uniques come with. While each Unique has two guaranteed affixes, the other slots can be rerolled for the optimal affix for that build. Since previous Mythics had completely static affixes, there is potential for a historically stunning Mythic like Nesekem, Herald to become usable with a rerolled affix and a 30% more powerful unique affix.

  • Guaranteed Suffix 1: Weapon Damage

  • Guaranteed Suffix 2: Vulnerable Damage Multiplier

Both guaranteed suffixes for Nesek, Herald in Diablo 4 Season 14 is some of the better options Mythic can have Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. With Lord of Hatred's change to Skill Trees, individual bonus skill stats are less valuable than damage multiplier skills. By the way, the Herald already focuses on applying Vulnerable to enemies with its unique ability, so having a guaranteed damage multiplier for Vulnerability provides excellent synergy that the previous Mythic version lacked.
