Microsoft's subscription service lost exactly 62 games in the first half of 2026. The latest wave of departures came at the end of June, when eight titles left Xbox Game Pass. This catalog rotation was particularly notable because it included Payday 2which has been part of the service since its inception, more than nine years.

Dungeons of Hinterberg and Back to the Dawn are not showing as “departing soon” in all countries, raising the possibility that they will be around until at least July 31, 2026.
Besides Splitgate: Arena Reloaded (originally known as Splitgate 2), two other things are unusual about the mid-July 2026 departure wave. Both Back to Dawn and Hinterberg dungeons are only showing as “leaving early” for some subscribers as of July 2nd. While it seems to vary from country to country, Microsoft has been fairly consistent in removing Game Pass titles globally. A departure only at the regional level is therefore unlikely. Back to Dawn was originally added to Xbox Game Pass in July 2025, while Hinterberg dungeons he spent a year longer in the service.
Even with an exception Splitgate given its free-to-play status, the 11 removals would mark the biggest wave of departures from the service in several years. For context, the biggest wave of exits from Xbox Game Pass this year came at the end of April 2026, when Microsoft pulled nine titles from its content catalog at once.

Microsoft should officially confirm the full list of departures on July 15 as part of this month's Wave 1 lineup. The date of the announcement remains unclear, but based on the company's communication pattern over the past few years, the first Tuesday of the month seems the most likely possibility. In this case it would be July 7th.
