6 Most Underwhelming Konoha 11 members, rated

Konoha 11 is a powerful group of ninjas To Naruto generation, consisting of Shinobi from different teams. This group, aside from Sasuke, consisted of Team 7, Team 8, Team 10, and of course Team Guy. All of these ninja were marked as the future of Konoha, and they certainly carried immense talent.

While quite a lot of Konoha 11 ended up living up to fan expectations and taking it to the next level, there were others that were underwhelming for one reason or another and definitely not that interesting to witness throughout the story.

Kiba Inuzuka

Kiba Inuzuka Most Underwhelming Konoha 11 members naruto

  • Team Konoha: Team 8

  • Team Leader: Kurenai Yuhi

  • Kekkei Genkai: None

  • Ninja Rank: Chunin

Kiba of the Inuzuka clan is one of the most overwhelming characters in all of Naruto. Kiba was a member of Team 8 and certainly a very interesting character at the beginning of the series. He also fought against Naruto Uzumaki in the chunin exams and he definitely held his own.

In fact, he also played a great role in the Sasuke Retrieval arc. However, his importance in the story has declined since then. By the time of the Fourth Great Ninja War, he had become nothing more than a joke, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he had become irrelevant. As a member of the Konoha 11, he definitely flopped and is pretty much irrelevant and not talked about in the Boruto era, which is really unfortunate.

Shino Aburame

anime strongest undefeated characters

  • Team Konoha: Team 8

  • Team Leader: Kurenai Yuhi

  • Kekkei Genkai: None

  • Ninja Rank: Jonin

Shino was a pretty underrated character in the first episode Naruto. Although he almost never got his flowers, he was always the most complex in Konoha 11, keeping his true power to himself. He was seen fighting in some very impressive battles in the Chunin Exams, and more importantly, he also fought against Kankuro later in the story.

Even though he got small moments here and there in War, Shino was largely neglected as a character and it was pretty clear that the author didn't really care about him. This made him one of the most stunning ninjas of Konoha 11. In the Boruto era, Shino is officially seen as a Ninja Academy instructor, but unlike Iruka, he is quite strong. We would all appreciate his character a lot more if the writers really focused on him.

Hinata Hyuga

Hinata Most Underwhelming Konoha 11 members naruto

  • Team Konoha: Team 8

  • Team Leader: Kurenai Yuhi

  • Kekkei Genkai: Byakugan

  • Ninja Rank: Chunin

While Hinata was certainly treated better than Kiba, she was still largely a neglected character. Her character got off to an incredibly good start when she fought against Neji during the Chunin Exams arc, using Naruto as her only inspiration. She tried her best not only to fight against her cousin, but also to prove to the world that she was also a capable fighter.

Hinata did phenomenally well in her fight despite losing; however, her role in the story diminished quite a bit after that. Although she played an important role in Pain's Arc, she was only used to trigger Naruto Uzumaki's true power. She didn't do anything of note in the war and at the end of it all, despite all the talent she had, she became a housewife and gave up her ninja duties. She is largely irrelevant in Boruto and was eventually sealed away by Kawaki, taking her out of the plot entirely. As a member of the Konoha 11, Hinata is definitely impatient and has wasted a lot of potential as a ninja.

Boruto's new Jonin replaces Naruto as Konoha's #1 Ninja

Naruto was nerfed and in his weakened state he is far from the strongest ninja of Konoha.

Rock Lee

Rock Lee looks at the viewer with a slight smile.

  • Team Konoha: Team Guy

  • Team Leader: Might Guy

  • Kekkei Genkai: None

  • Ninja Rank: Jonin

Rock Lee was clearly a fan favorite at the beginning of the story. His story was compelling and touched fans because many people could relate to it. His fight against Gaara echoes through history even now; however, that's all this character has going for him.

Rock Lee was largely neglected in the second part of Naruto and his story arc remained largely intact. All the fans were extremely disappointed to see how he was treated in the war. While he is strong and still has a very interesting story, in the grand scheme of things he can only be considered a stunning Konoha 11 ninja.

2

Go Akimichi

Choji Most Underwhelming Konoha 11 members naruto

  • Team Konoha: Team 10

  • Team Leader: Asuma Sarutobi

  • Kekkei Genkai: None

  • Ninja Rank: Chunin

Choji was never the most interesting character in Naruto and the fans didn't care that much about him. Despite all of this, however, he was given quite a bit of attention at the beginning of the story by Masashi Kishimoto. Even then, however, it was largely insufficient and declined.

In the Sasuke Retrieval mission, we had a very interesting fight centered around him. However, that was the last time we saw him in action for a long time. While he got his moments here and there in the War, he was largely irrelevant and became even more boring as the plot continued. Fans didn't seem to care enough about this because Kishimoto never really put that much effort into his character, making him just as much of an underwhelming ninja.

1

Tenten

Tenten Most Underwhelming Konoha 11 members naruto

  • Team Konoha: Team Guy

  • Team Leader: Might Guy

  • Kekkei Genkai: None

  • Ninja Rank: Jonin

Quite easily, the biggest flop in all of Konoha 11 was Tenten. She was introduced as a member of Team Guy and with this team having a year more experience than everyone else, fans expected big things from them. Neji definitely lived up to these expectations. Not this one though. This was a very confusing decision by the author, mainly because he doesn't know how to properly write his female characters.

What made this character even scarier was the fact that she had her own goals to begin with. She wanted to become a powerful ninja like Tsunade; however, the two were not even seen interacting throughout the series. Tenten wielded a lot of weapons, but that was all her character had. In fact, her teacher Guy didn't even pay her any attention, focusing only on Lee. Her superiors failed her as a ninja and as a result she ended up a failure as a member of the Konoha 11. That said, she still finished high and earned Jonin rank in the Boruto era. Unfortunately, she is still not the focus of the story, which is definitely unfortunate.

All episodes of the Naruto series are available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
