How to get Ash Greninja in Cobblemon

Ash Greninja is not available in the base version Minecraft's Cobblemon mod, but players can add it to the game by installing a mod called Cobblemon: Mega Showdown. This mod unlocks the ability of a regular Greninja to transform into an Ash Greninja with a unique Battle Bond ability using an item called the Ash Cap.

In order for this to work, players will need to install the Radical Cobblemon Trainers mod in addition to Mega Showdown. This is because Ash Greninja's signature ability, Battle Bond, only has an effect in trainer battles, which can only be added to Cobblemon using the RCT mod.

To get Ash-Greninja in Cobblemon: Mega Showdown, you need to get Greninja, raise his friendship to 250 (max level), craft an Ash Cap and use it on Greninja by right clicking.

Step #1: Get Greninja

You can get Greninja in Cobblemon by choosing Froakie as a starter and evolving it, or by capturing Froakie, Frogadier, or Greninja directly in the wild. All three of these Pokémon are very rare spawns in the Bamboo, Freshwater, and Jungle biomes.

Step #2: Increase Greninja's Friendship

You can increase Greninja's Friendship in Cobblemon by leveling up, walking, winning Pokemon battles, or using Friendship Fruits (Tamato, Qualot, Pomeg, Kelpsy, Hondew, and Grepa). You can increase the friendship gain rate by giving Greninja an item held by the Soothe Bell or by capturing it in a luxurious orb.

You can check Greninja's friendship by opening the Pokémon status screen, going to the third tab and clicking “Other”.

Step #3: Get the Ash Cap

An ash cap can be made from red wool, green wool, and white wool using the following recipe:

Step #4: Give the Ash Cap to Greninja

Equip Ash Cap in your hotbar, release Greninja from the Poke Ball and right click on it. A large number of red hearts will appear around the sprite Pokemon, indicating that the conversion was successful. If no red hearts appear, it means that Greninja's friendship level is too low.

To confirm that Greninja is now Ash Greninja, open the Pokemon's status screen and look at its abilities. Battle Bond should now be listed.

Step #5: Activate Ash Greninja

Enter a trainer battle with multiple Pokémon and defeat the first Pokémon with Greninja. When the trainer sends out a second Pokémon, Greninja will transform into Ash Greninja, its stats will be boosted, and its Water Shuriken move will be stronger.

If Greninja's Friendship was below 250 when using Ash Capgains the Battle Bond ability but does not transform into Ash Greninja during battle.

If Greninja's Friendship was at 250 when Ash Cap was usedhe gains the Battle Bond ability and also transforms into Ash Greninja during battle.

How to get Ash Cap in Cobbleverse

In Cobbleverse (one of the most popular modpacks for Cobblemon), you cannot directly craft the Ash Cap item to get Ash Greninja. Instead, you must find and fight Ash Ketchum, who will drop an Ash Cap upon defeat.

In order to find Ash's home, you'll need to craft an Ash Key, a Blank Map, and a Map Table.

Once you have all three items, place the Kanto Cartography Table on the ground and right click on it. Place the blank map in the left slot and the Ash Key in the middle slot. After a short while, the Ash Map will appear in the output window. This map will show the location of Ash's house within 10,000 blocks.

You can optionally use the Battle Seeker in the third slot of the Kanto Cartography Table when creating an Ash Map to increase the extent of the map from 10,000 to 25,000 blocks, making it easier to find a location.

Alternatively, you can also write /locate the cobbleverse:ash structure in the command menu you will directly get the coordinates of Ash's house.

Once you find Ash, defeat him in battle and he will drop the Ash Cap on the ground. Make sure you have at least 4-5 badges under your belt before you fight him because in our game the entire team had level 40 Pokemon with optimized movesets and excellent stats.

If you don't see a cap next to Ash after defeating Ash, check his room as this item will occasionally appear on his bed.
