Fortnite Developer Epic Games Settles Lawsuit With Former Contract Employee Accused Of Leaking Undisclosed Details Regarding Fortniteplanned cooperation. Settlement details between Fortnite the development team and the accused former contractor have not been publicly disclosed at the time of writing.

The settlement comes months after Epic Games filed a lawsuit against a leaker known as AdiraFN. AdiraFN, who was subsequently revealed to be former Epic Games contractor Hayden Cohen, developed a reputation for corruption. Fortnite settles with leaker AdiraFN out of court

After Epic sued Cohen for leaking confidential details about Fortnitethe two sides have now reached a settlement regarding the former's claims. As part of the settlement between the two parties, there will be no trial to decide the case. In addition, Cohen has vowed not to leak again Fortnite the materials they have. Through a statement published by Game File, Epic Games spokeswoman Natalie Munoz said that the company has asked a North Carolina district court to approve a stipulated injunction against Cohen to ensure that the defendant can no longer share or publish any confidential Epic Games information. Munoz further did not comment on any details regarding the settlement between Cohen and Epic. Epic Games' lawsuit against Cohen, filed in March 2026 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, alleged that the leaks harm the marketing strategy of Epic Games and its corporate partners.

Because leaks can spoil the surprise for some Fortnite players, Epic Games said the company could lose money if any materials were leaked before their intended release. The company therefore sought damages against Cohen and a permanent injunction ordering the former supplier to return or destroy any confidential Epic Games information they still had. Although leaks about FortniteWith the upcoming collaboration still prominent on social media, the fact that Cohen was taken to court over what they leaked via AdiraFN is proof of just how litigious Epic Games can be.

However, this is not the first time Fortnite was in the courtroom in 2026. Fortnite returned to Apple stores worldwide in May 2026, with Epic Games saying the long-running legal battle between the two companies is entering its final phase. Epic's response came after a ruling by the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit that said the fee structure Apple uses for transactions at third-party stores was in contempt. Although US Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan initially declined to hear the case, the Supreme Court eventually agreed to hear Apple's case against the Ninth Circuit's decision. At the time of writing, a final decision is not expected until June 2027.

As for Epic Games, Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is now live across all platforms. It remains to be seen what collaborations are still on the table for the rest of 2026.
