How to get the needle threader skill in Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 rewards players with different skills for performing certain actions as they explore the open world or participate in races and events. These can range from things like drifting or constantly driving at high speeds, to crashing into oncoming vehicles, performing burnouts and swapping paint with other racers. Threading the Needle is one of the less obvious skills when it comes to how it's earned Forza Horizon 6. The game doesn't really explain what it is, so if you don't know it from previous entries in the series, you might have trouble getting it for the Horizon Season challenges.

How to get the needle threader skill in Forza Horizon 6

The 'Threading the Needle' skill is obtained by driving between two NPC cars in close proximity without touching either of them. In other words, you want the cars to be about 5-10 meters apart and pass through that gap. This can be done between cars traveling in the same direction as you or entering oncoming vehicles. I've usually found it easier to do this on the same side of the road you're driving on.

The easiest way to get the 'Threading the Needle' skill is to take the highways that run around the perimeter of the main island of Japan. They have plenty of cars to pass between and the multiple lanes give plenty of room to find gaps between cars.

Multiple lanes also have the added benefit of allowing you to drive diagonally between two cars. These spaces are usually slightly larger compared to what you find when two cars drive side by side in two lanes. It may seem like a small difference, but it can make a big difference, especially if you're trying to get the Threading the Needle skill with a bigger car.

For the 'Mini in the Middle' seasonal challenge, which is currently active at the time of writing, you need to get the 'Threading the Needle' skill with any Mini Cooper. I recommend using the John Cooper Works GP 2012 to complete this challenge, as it is the fastest of the three on typical roads. This can come in handy when getting through particularly tight gaps, although bear in mind that none of the Minis are particularly fast. The

The X-Raid All4 Racing Countryman may have a bigger engine, but it has a slower top speed and is more of a rally vehicle than a highway vehicle where you're best suited to the challenge.

Note that other challenges based on the “Thread the Needle” skill may require the use of other vehicles. Always choose a vehicle that meets the requirements of the challenge and has good handling so that you can confidently drive through the gap without touching any vehicle.
