While Ubisoft remains tight-lipped about what comes next Far Cry installment, a prominent dataminer recently leaked details of what the development team is planning Far Cry 7and the claims indicate a large deviation from the formula for the series. Far Cry fans haven't seen a new entry since 2021, marking the longest stretch without a new game for a franchise that has reliably maintained three- to four-year development cycles.
On July 6, 2026, Ubisoft dataminer RogueTX took to Twitter to give a sneak peek of what fans can expect from Far Cry 7which longtime fans may notice is a huge departure from the typical Far Cry game. Many of these bullet points are a leak by doubling down on claims they made earlier this year and last year. According to RogueTx, the next game in the PvE/PvP series will be an extraction shooter where players will have 72 hours to save their family members from the Sons of Truth, an enemy faction previously rumored to star Cillian Murphy.
