Due to the popularity of George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fireand HBO game of throneswe really haven't gotten that many notable, quality games. Although I can't speak for the “quality” part, the upcoming one Game of Thrones: War for Westeros looks a step above almost everything else the franchise has ever produced, and the strategy game has one particularly exciting selling point: dragons!
Depending on the faction chosen, players will lead Drogon, Rhaegal, or Viserion into battle, setting the armies on fire from above. Their potential for devastation remains to be seen, but GothDragons are relatively light compared to other fantasy beasts that could single-handedly destroy nations or even planets. If these overpowered dragons somehow stumbled through the portal to Westeros, they would automatically become gods.
The last paragraph probably made it clear, but this article covers itGoth dragons that would utterly destroy all the armies of Westeros. We will not talk specifically about the dragons that appear in War for Westerosbecause there probably won't be many of them.
Fatalis is the ultimate Apex predator of Monster Hunter
Dragons should be extinction events
-
Turn Westeros into a sea of fire
-
Signature Attack: Firebreathing
Although dragons are a fairly large part of the mythos, they are not absurdly powerful in it game of thronesand are vulnerable to human attacks like a well-placed Scorpion lightning bolt. in comparison Monster HunterFatalis simply exists in a completely different dimension.
He melted an entire kingdom in a single night, and there's no indication that the same won't happen to King's Landing or Lannisport. Honestly, all of them Monster HunterThe Elder Dragons would destroy the armies of Westeros, but the destruction of Fatalis would be the most devastating and vicious. It is also an incredibly evil dragon.
Kaido is a one piece dragon king
Say hello to the new sea emperor of Westeros
-
The one who can turn into a dragon
-
Signature Attack: Bolo Breath
to be honest One piece's Kaido can probably defeat most Western European armies in his “normal” form. With absurd force and durability, Kaido walks among goliaths, despite technically not being one himself, and would outmatch him game of thrones'giant.
If Kaido really wanted to turn his victory into a spectacle, he would activate his Devil Fruit and transform into a gigantic dragon that would terrorize the entire Seven Kingdoms. In this form, he would be invulnerable to standard weapons and could even shoot a blast of pure plasma.
Daenerys may use dragons as tools, but Kaido is a military commander who happens to be a dragon god.
Dragonlord Placidusax is a legend of the Elden Ring
Being outside of time
-
Signature Attack: Red Lightning Spear
Elden Ring has so many powerful dragons, and FromSoftware generally likes to throw one of these beasts at players just when they're getting comfortable. Dragonlord Placidusax goes a step further as a former Elden Lord who exists outside of time. We're talking about an ancient two-headed dragon that can teleport, which would take all the Westerosi armies by surprise.
When players encounter Placidusax Elden Ringthe dragon is far from its peak. Not only is he clearly hurt, but he's also lost a couple of heads, which must have hurt. Even in this state, he is still essentially a cosmic power.
Ancalagon the Black is LOTR's strongest and largest dragon
It has different levels
-
Signature Attack: Who Cares! It is bigger than mountains. Okay, his fire breath is pretty strong.
A Song of Ice and Fire clearly takes inspiration from Tolkien lord of the ringsas are most epic fantasy stories. While LOTR has many more mythical creatures and races than George RR Martin's story, in which dragons play a larger role Gothat least if we don't take The Hobbit into consideration.
Both novels decided to limit their strongest dragon to history, though LOTRAncalagon the Black produces GothBalerion the Black Dread looks like a dragonfly. Along with his army of dragons, the beast served as the Dark Lord Morgoth's final attempt to turn the tide in the War of Wrath, and Ancalagon was essentially a cataclysmic event. His wingspan would be enough to shroud continents in darkness and his fallen body would crush volcanoes.
King Ghidorah would destroy all of Westeros
Does Godzilla accept requests?
-
Special Attack: Gravity Beam
While Godzilla isn't classified as a dragon, King Ghidorah qualifies 100%, and a multi-headed space kaiju would have a field day in Westeros. Despite dipping into mythic territory, game of thrones the universe is relatively grounded by the standards of the fantasy genre, and dragons are not end-of-the-world devices, but rather powerful weapons used in human kingdoms.
The whole identity of House Targaryen is built on “fire and blood” and Ghidorah would be an invasive force that represents “storm and doom”. Unless Daenerys or Jon Snow found a way to summon Godzilla, they would be utterly powerless against this titan, forced to watch their castles be destroyed and their armies massacred.
Deathwing is the end of the WoW world
Westeros cannot field a strong enough raiding party

-
Signature Attack: Elementium Bolt or Cataclysm
Deathwing is one of the World of Warcraft's strongest characters ever, and that's saying a lot considering the lore includes literal gods (most of whom are stronger than a dragon, but not by a significant margin). When it erupted from the earth, it literally changed the world's landscape, bringing destruction to countries and continents.
At that moment, Deathwing hadn't even attacked yet, but had already caused a cataclysmic event. If he decides to actually start fighting, Deathwing's victory is almost immediately guaranteed, as he would only need to roar to shatter the Red Keep or turn Blackwater Rush into magma.
Dragon Ball Super Shenron is too big to comprehend
Now things are just silly
-
Signature Attack: Grant any wish and warp reality
Yes, we're getting into comedic territory. Even one of Dragon BallThe little Shadow Dragons are powerful enough to own all of the Westerosi armies by themselves, including the Night King's forces, but they aren't absurd enough for this article. Despite not being a warrior, Shenron's normal reality warping abilities would allow him to change the appearance of Westeros at will.
Then we have Super Shenron who can warp reality AND is the size of the solar system. Sure, he's not a fighter and would only grant a human wish, but he could eat an entire galaxy with just an open mouth. The scale of it would blow the mind anyone who exists in a universe that isn't Dragon Ball
