Fortunately, Garcia is armed to the teeth with powerful weapons, but there may be times in your quest when the hordes prove to be too much for you. Here are some tips to make sure you and Paula make it back to the land of the living.

Turn on gyro aiming

Hella Remastered offers gyroscopic targetingand if your system supports it, you should definitely use it. You'll still be doing most of your aiming with the right stick, but added control offered by the gyroscope will allow you to fine tune your goalresulting in more accurate shots. This is especially useful when you are trying to do this to target specific parts of the demons' bodies.

If you don't like it, you can always disable it in the settings menu.

Use Light Shot often

The light shot isn't just for solving environmental puzzles, it also has practical applications in combat. Shooting at an enemy will stun them and inflict it freeze for a short while; you can even upgrade the light shot to increase the duration of the stun. This gives you time to escape if necessary or to focus on other, more threatening enemies for a while.

It can also hit weak enemies with a light shot set them to execute. After they are stunned, run to them and you will be greeted with a button prompt. Press the button in time to kill your enemy in style.

Lure enemies into exploding barrels

As you might expect from any shooter, Shadows of the Damned does lots of exploding barrels to throw away. However, in this game they are not filled with TNT, but instead with lightwhich is deadly to demons.

A good strategy when there are many enemies on the screen, it is lure them to the barrel before you shoot it. There will be an explosion make short work of all the fodder demons and deal serious damage to stronger ones.

Buy red gems

You don't get many things to buy when you visit christopher your options are ammo, health pickup and red gems. We strongly recommend it buy as many red gems as possible. Ammo and drinks are much more abundant in the gaming worldand if you play your cards right, you won't need to buy any.

Red gems are used upgrade your arsenal and your healthmaking them much more useful to you in the long run.

Buying red gems is also essential if you want to get the hardest trophy in the game, High in Las Vegas. It asks you to get all available red gems in one game, which involves finding all 38 in the levels and buying 42 more.

Upgrade weapon capacity

When you start the game, you may find that your guns are low on ammo and quickly run out of bullets.

While you should try changing which weapon you use often so that you don't completely deplete your ammo supply, a capacity upgrade is also recommended. The damage and reload speed boosts are useful, but it's important to make sure you have enough ammo first.

Horde Alcohol

In real life alcohol can have a detrimental effect on your health, but in hell it actually keeps you alive. If you see bottles around, always pick them up. This it prevents you from having to spend white gems on themand ensures that you survive almost every combat encounter.

Alcohol too helps protect against darkness; if you find yourself trapped in the void, potions can restore some vitality until you find a heart or an exit.

The sensor you'll want the most is Absinthe, as it offers almost full healing every time you drink it.

Melee when demons get close

Shadows of the Damned's arsenal is so much fun to use that you might forget you have a melee attack. Johnson's torch can be used to beating demonsand by holding down the melee button unleashes an even stronger attack.

If enemies are in your face, it's best to hit them with Johnson and retreat to a safe distance. Try it aim your sights while more demons are swarming, you'll be too slowand you're opening yourself up to serious damage.

Equip Demonio Garcia if you're having trouble

If you find yourself having a lot of trouble progressing through the campaign, there are steps you can take to make the game less challenging. You may want to off restart completely on an easier difficulty consider the outfit of the costume.

Hella Remastered allows you to equip Garcia with costumes before loading the game and one skin, Demonio Garcia, doubles your attack power. This costume is available as soon as you start the game, so if you just want to grind your way through the underworld, this is the skin for you.
