Ready or Not: The Best Weapons, Ranked
The best weapons in Ready or Not come from all weapon categories, but which one will allow players to survive challenging enemy encounters?
Tracks ready or not – all targets
The Dormitories map is similar RoN A Twisted Nerve mission in many ways. Both levels are set in a dilapidated building full of junkies, and drugs are involved in one way or another. Expect to fight in very close quarters with little room to manoeuvre, but don't compromise long corridor on the first floor.
- Bring order to chaos – Arrest or neutralize all contacts on the scene
- Save all civilians – Limit all unarmed civilians
- Arrest 5 suspects – Restrain the suspects without killing them
In terms of objectives, Dorms are similar to your typical police raid – go in, control the situation, calm down any threats and secure any civilians. However, the problem is not the objectives, but the layout of the map.
The building is full of dark areas and holes in the walls that armed suspects can hide and shoot. Especially all those little killer holes in the walls can be a big problem as they reduce the effectiveness of tactical grenades. For this mission, we recommend bringing a shield and/or CS gas — have your pointman block incoming bullets, and if there are any armed suspects in the room, put in some tear gas. The gas should bypass broken walls and affect anyone hiding behind them.
As always, if you carry CS gas, don't forget your gas mask. Also consider using a weapon equipped with a scope for shooting at long distances.
Soft targets for dorms ready or not
- Report drug paraphernalia
Fortunately, there is only one soft target in Dorms, and that's it secure some drug paraphernalia somewhere in the building. To find it, start at the south entrance and then take the first set of stairs in the long corridor. After a short search, you should be able to see a shrine of your kind. Head to the counter to find a bong along with drug packets.
Recommended track load and tips
As mentioned, ballistic shields and CS gas are great for this map, but for the rest of your team's loadout, you should consider the following:
- Wear heavy armor. This allows you to tank extra hits in case you get stuck in tight rooms or get caught in those long, open corridors.
- Bring flashlights. This map is not dark enough for night vision, but dim enough to obscure your view.
- Go for non-lethal hits. Unless you're using a shotgun or pepper ball launcher, aim for the shoulders or stomach. Remember: you have to arrest five suspects.
- Use hollow point ammo. The suspects here are mostly unarmed and easily stopped by HP ammo. However, it could lead to higher mortality.
- Bring tasers and pepper spray. Most civilians and suspects don't fit in here.
