Diablo 2 was originally released for PC in 2000 and was one of the most successful and influential games of its genre. Due to its huge success, Blizzard released Diablo 2: Resurrected in 2021, remastering one of the best Diablo game and its expansion Lord of Destruction with better graphics and compatibility with modern consoles. Now Blizzard has announced it Diablo 2: Resurrected's Ladder Season 9 is set to begin on December 6th at 5:00 PM PST. Like previous seasons, the game mode will feature four ladders. In order to participate in the leaderboard, players must create new characters that will progress through the game as normal and be compared to other players on the leaderboard based on how much experience they have gained. Each new season, the leaderboards are reset and players can compete again.

In addition to the new season, Blizzard revealed Diablo 2: ResurrectedPatch 2.8.0 and announced that it will be released on December 3rd. The patch only fixes one bug and improves the interface, allowing movement directions to be bound. Our previous Ladder Seasons for Diablo II: Resurrected showed how good the adventurers were in saving Sanctuary, competing to be the first to cement their names on the ladder, while striking fear into the tortured hearts of their demonic opponents.

Ladder Season 9 will offer brave adventurers a new opportunity to reach level 99 and collect powerful loot. We can't wait to see which determined souls carve their name on the leaderboard this time around.

For those new to Ladder Seasons, you may be wondering what happens to your shared loot once the current season ends.

Once Ladder Season 8 ends, all Ladder characters will be transferred to their respective non-ladder group. All items in this character group's shared stash will go to the new Select Only Shared Stash card set, marked with the Past check box. Any rank 7 items stored on Pick Only cards will be lost at this point. You will have the entire Season 9 leaderboard to choose any items you would like to keep from Season 8. When Ladder Season 9 ends, this select-only stash card set will be overwritten by all items in the Ladder Season 8 shared stash. Make sure you get all the items by then or they will be lost forever!
