Released for iOS and Android devices in 2017, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp brought many of the social sim mechanics from other franchise titles to players' phones and tasked them with maintaining a small campsite and decorating their space as they pleased. The game has grossed over $250 million through in-app purchases by November 2021, making it Nintendo's second most successful mobile title ever. While many fans were deeply interested in the game's characters and pleasant atmosphere, Nintendo made the announcement Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be closed for good on Thanksgiving or November 28th. Desperate gamers have spent the past few months backing up their data and preparing to say goodbye to the beloved spin-off title.

As previously reported, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has officially taken offline for good, and its shutdown marks a dark day in the franchise's history. All is not lost, however, as a replacement is already on the way. December 3, 2024 Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp complete will launch on mobile devices and allow players to import their previous Pocket camp save data by logging into a new game using the same account. This includes all clothing, layouts, crafting items, furniture, friendship levels and bells, although Leaf Tickets will no longer be usable. Those who haven't connected theirs Pocket camp data with their Nintendo Account before today's shutdown is unfortunately out of luck.

The new title will be completely offline, and while no in-game purchases will be offered, players can still expect seasonal events and over 10,000 items to appear in-game.
