Jujutsu Kaisen ended fairly recently, and fans were somewhat satisfied with the conclusion of the series, while acknowledging that the ending itself was rushed in many ways. At the end, many loose ends were left and some exciting details that the writers had previously prepared were not worked out. Right now, fans understand the fact that the author suffered immensely due to his physical condition and had to face many health problems.

However, this certainly does not mean that the author cannot continue to expand the events of the story in another way in the future. While some fans are waiting for a proper sequel, others believe that JJK will get a spin-off mini-series at some point, or at least a one-shot. While the chances of a continuation of the series are almost zero, a one-off or spin-off is not too far-fetched. In the event that the series is ever to be continued in some way, fans would absolutely love to know what the role of the Gojo clan will be next and how the author will develop them.

What fans know about the Gojo clan so far

It can be seen that Gege Akutami is quite a good writer and that he has done one of the most exciting stories in recent times JJK. However, it goes without saying that his handling of many aspects of the story was subpar. The way Gege expanded the concept of three big families was definitely not good, regardless of what the die-hard fans think. In fact, fans know very little about how the three clans even work, especially the Gojo clan. The vast majority of this clan's relevance came from Gojo, who fans know is the face of the entire franchise. Taking Gojo out of the equation, fans know little to nothing about this clan, which is certainly a problem and shows that the world building in this particular series where there are multiple factions and clans is not up to par.

What fans know about the Gojo clan is that they were one of the most important factions in Japan and that they also had a certain level of monopoly over the Jujutsu society. Because of Gojo, they enjoyed quite a lot of power and in many ways immunity. Goja himself has taken advantage of this immunity on numerous occasions, using his influence to save the likes of Yuji and Yuta from certain death. The only other thing that fans know about the people of the Gojo clan is that they are descended from Michizan no Sugawara, who is known to have been a vengeful spirit in the past. Also, the Gojo Clan, who are certainly very powerful, have no information about them from the author, which is sad to say the least. In many ways, the Gojo Clan, one of the three great clans in the JJKexists purely for Satoru.

If Gojo is taken out of the equation, this clan would basically collapse in on itself, at least based on what the series has told fans so far. At the same time, if this clan is removed from the story, nothing would change in the world JJK at all, which just goes to show that the author didn't do a good job of handling it, and at the same time, the continuation of the series, in whatever form it might come, would have to really work it out.

Why Satoru's death matters to the Gojo clan

It shouldn't be hard for fans to understand the predicament of the Gojo clan by now. JJK is certainly over, but fans can always debate the politics of this world due to the outcome of the great Shinjuku Showdown War. Of course the biggest event in the Shinjuku showdown was the defeat and death of Gojo. Gojo fought Sukuna in a very exciting battle and was definitely neck and neck with him in this fight.

In fact, Gojo even had the advantage on many occasions in this battle, which only showed his immense strength. The fact is that Gojo was not only fighting against Sukun and his Cursed Shrine Technique, but also against Megumi and his 10 Shadow Technique. Enduring two of the strongest techniques at one time was certainly too much for him, and thanks to Mahorag, he was able to win this battle definitively.

After his death, the other wizards rushed into battle and basically took care of Sukun as well. It was Yuji who finally defeated the King of Curses for good and dealt the final blow to him as well. Obviously, everyone was happy after the main battles were over JJK and that the vast majority of characters survived.

But at the same time, fans have to look at the effects of the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. Gojo's death will change the world in a particularly big way, and fans know that means the consequences for his family will be absolutely massive. Sotoru was the leader of the Gojo clan and after his death the clan would need a new head. Not only that, but now a large part of the Gojo Clan's power will be taken away from them, which basically means they have to find alternatives one way or another.

What role could the Gojo Clan play in the future of JJK?

The Gojo Clan could reassert dominance

As mentioned, fans know absolutely nothing about the Gojo clan. They were one of the three great clans in the country JJK world for quite some time, meaning that for what it's worth, Gojo wasn't the only source of their political influence and power. He certainly gave them a great advantage, but they are powerless without him. It must be some members of the Gojo Clan, who are quite powerful themselves, even without the use of the Six Eyes and the Limitless. At the same time, keep in mind that Gojo clan members will always have access to these special abilities.

The trait known as the Six Eyes manifests in someone else after Goya's death, as it must keep appearing no matter what. Similarly, some other members of the Gojo clan will also eventually inherit the cursed Limitless technique, and this is again inevitable. The most likely outcome is that the Gojo Clan will mostly try to continue their lineage in an attempt to spawn someone with the Limitless, or at least the Six Eyes. Giving birth to someone with both would be very difficult, given that Gojo was the first in 400 years to have both powers at the same time.

Still, luck might shine on the Gojo family and another individual with the power of Six Eyes and Unlimited at the same time could be born. Even then, if they only have one of these powers, it would still give them a huge advantage and at least save face for this clan politically.

It's also possible that there are other powerful members in the Gojo Clan that fans don't know about. Regardless of whether JJK continues, the author would have to flesh out the Gojo clan and show fans exactly how it works, especially after Satoru's death. In addition, fans would also see this large family moving against the others, perhaps in an attempt to seize control of the overarching Jujutsu society and become the sole dominant force.
