One Piece's Amazon Lily Empresses suffer from lovesickness
Mortal suffering
One Piece's The Amazon Lily is an island that consists entirely of women, called the Kuja tribe. This group is led by Empress Boa Hancock, although she was preceded by both Empresses Shakka and Gloriosa, or Elder Nyon as she is known today. However, at one point or another, every empress in Amazon Lily's history has been afflicted with something called love sickness. To cure this affliction, Empress Lily of the Amazons must leave the island to pursue her love, much like Boa Hancock left to help Luffy on his quest to rescue Ace.
It's like what they say in the East: “Love is always a hurricane!” – Gloriosa
Of course, Gloriosa mentioned that she too was struck by love sickness at one point in her life. This led the former empress to leave her station and join One Piece's Rocks Pirates. However, one astute reader deduced that the one Gloriosa had a crush on was a member of the Rocks Pirates, leading them to ask Oda about it. Oda responded in SBS Volume stating that her crush was most likely part of the Rocks Crew.
Gloriosa was potentially in love with a rock pirate
Adventure for love
Unfortunately, Oda left it at that, teasing fans about what this potential romance could be about without any direct answers. Fortunately, this hint at least narrows down who the former Rocks Pirate, Gloriosa, love might have been drastically. In fact, if we only look at the named male characters revealed in the story so far, there are only about 6 options left for potential love interests.

One Piece Chapter 1133 Preview: The Mystery Behind Louis Arnot
Louis Arnot is a mysterious character in One Piece. The mysteries surrounding Elbaf abound in One Piece.
All in all, Gloriosa's love in One piece it could have been Kaido, Whitebeard, Shiki, John, Streusen, or Rocks D. Xebec himself. Yet, One piece has not yet revealed Gloriosa's relationships with other members of the Rocks Pirates or these various candidates for love. If however One piece a pirate, Boa Hancock, Luffy's love is an example, an Amazon empress usually falls for someone who defies expectations of male stereotypes.
Most likely characters like Big Mom's guardian Streusen, sluggish John and ambitious Shiki. Overall, these characters don't seem suitable for someone like the Empress of the Kuja Tribe. Meanwhile, a character like the beast pirate captain, Kaido, is perhaps too stereotypically masculine for Gloriosa. Most likely, Gloriosa was in love with the former Sea Emperor Whitebeard, a powerful man who still had a soft side, especially when it came to his family.
Other options are still possible
Garp or Xebex?
As for the mysterious pirate Rocks D. Xebca, too little is known about the character to make any firm decisions about whether or not Gloriosa was in love with him. Also, it's worth noting that none of the Rocks Pirates really got along. This group struggle is probably why Gloriosa never ended up together with her love on Rocks Pirates and returned to Amazon Lily Island. This could mean that she was trying to get the Marine's attention through a piratical act, making a character like Garp her true love.
Hmmm, if the way to reduce lovesickness is to be close to the person you're in love with… it might be someone from the Rocks Pirates. – Ode to Gloriosa's lovesickness
In the end, unfortunately, there is no concrete evidence of who Gloriosa fell in love with before she left Amazon Lily Island. The truth is, the details of who Gloriosa left for aren't really important to the overall story One piece. The fact that she left and joined the Rocks Pirates is the only thing that matters in the grand scheme of things, and any other details are unnecessary to understanding the character's motivations. Still, it would be an interesting fact for Oda to reveal in the future One piece.
