One of the biggest reveals at The Game Awards 2024, which host Geoff Keighley kept for the final announcement of the show, was another Naughty Dog game, Intergalactic: The Heretical Prophet. Aside from its space setting and retro-futuristic aesthetic, this was almost immediately apparent Intergalactic was a Naughty Dog game thanks to the studio's unmistakable flair for characters, writing, and polish. One area that remains a mystery is Intergalactic's gameplay, but the bits of story revealed in the debut trailer tease the main character, who is a sort of bounty hunter who owns an incredibly cool set of real-world “punk” gadgets.
From the opening shot of the trailer to the reveal of the game as Naughty Dog's next original IP, IntergalacticHis debut was practically bursting at the seams with references to real brands and technology. The game's protagonist, Jordan, pilots a ship with an obvious Porsche logo front and center, wears high-top Adidas trainers and uses a Sony stereo in a fine hat from parent company Naughty Dog. IntergalacticThe strategic use of licensed music, real-world branding and a talented cast position it as equal parts Naughty Dog and guardians of the galaxy, along with a retro-futuristic aesthetic that draws her to Ridley Scott Foreign or Bethesda's Star field.

Naughty Dog reveals new game at The Game Awards 2024
After a long flurry of rumors, Naughty Dog is officially announcing its next game, a brand new sci-fi IP, as The Game Awards 2024 approaches.
Every real world reference in Intergalactic: The Revelation of the Heretic Prophet Trailer
We are based on the cult sci-fi classic from 1982 Blade Runner, Intergalactic it represents a vision of the future with hints of cyberpunk along with the obvious dominance of corporate branding. It's a common motif in the consumerism-fueled and rapidly technologically advancing genre of the 1980s, which has been a cornerstone of cyberpunk fiction for nearly as long as the term has existed (courtesy of writers like Bruce Bethke and William Gibson). Appropriately, Intergalactic it's obviously loaded with a lot of references to real-life brands, complete with the game's hero seemingly being a collector of 80s pop culture artifacts.
Porsche Spaceship
The first and most obvious real-world reference in Intergalactic comes from the trailer's opening shot, in which the camera slowly pans out to reveal a spaceship bearing the German automaker Porsche's branding. A well-known and respected purveyor of luxury sports cars, Porsche cars (especially the 911 Turbo) are an important part of the iconography of the 1980s through their appearances in films, television and music videos. Jordan's spaceship is a not-so-subtle nod to the brand's importance in the decade the protagonist seems to love.
Jordan's Adidas sneakers
A quick shot of Jordan launching a spaceship reveals that he's wearing a high-top Adidas sneaker that, while not a 1:1 replica of the actual shoe, is absolutely one of the most iconic and beloved brands of the decade. Intergalactic regular links, 1980s. Adidas has previously partnered with properties that have featured its shoes to launch real-world models (such as Star-Lord's iconic hi-tops from Guardians of the Galaxy video game), so there's a chance it could do the same with Jordan's very cool sneakers.
Sony onboard CD player
Right before the trailer kicks into overdrive and drops the bomb, right Intergalactic is another Naughty Dog game, Jordan punches a few numbers and selects a CD from a spinning album spindle on her spaceship stereo, complete with Sony branding. Given that Intergalactic is a first-party game from Sony and presumably exclusive to the PlayStation 5, it's a bit of a catchy tag to remind you that it's a Sony exclusive.
The iconic song for the Pet Shop boys
Before intergalactic The trailer's licensed music starts, the camera zooms in on the CD Jordan chose to record his trip to the planet Sempiria to reveal it's the iconic 1987 synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. Actually. Viewers are then treated to the album's hit song “It's a Sin” accompanying the rest of the trailer, which could have something to do with the fact that the game's subtitle is Heretical prophet. Along with an original score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for Intergalacticit is possible that the game may contain other licensed tracks.
